Georgia signed her name as “Pepperoni Georgia”. I wonder if she plans to dress as a piece of pepperoni pizza for Halloween?

From now on, I’ll be referring to all children as ‘people-kittens’.

Maybe Lupin will be dressed up as a “Purr-ito”, heh-heh-heh…

My friend just had a baby, and I told her he was “as cute as a kitten” fortunately she loves cats so she understood the complement.

lupin could become invisible and be a laundry basket, a kitchen sink, a cooler, a marshmallow, mayo, so many possibilities..

Aww! Pepperoni Pucky! Too darling! Where are all the anchovies? Oh silly me, Puck ate them all. :)

Dang it, Georgia, now I’m hungry again! Off to the kitchen . . . . .

later that night … * knock knock *. * door opens *. “Meow mew Meow!”. and two kitties hit the jackpot, while the other sulks at home. (they’re nice and share some of the haul so Elvis doesn’t completely miss out)

On people kittens as a name for human children…. My mother’s father, Raymond Seymour, was full blooded French. His parents were illegal immigrants… please don’t rat me out… on second thought, being exiled to France might not be that bad. At any rate, he grew up in a house in Biloxi, Mississippi where only French was spoken. He became fully fluent in English, though his parents never did. He died when I was small, but I remember his dropping French words into his English conversation. “I need my chapeau and my flambeau,” he’d say before going out at night to hunt flounder at the beach.

He loved babies, and would speak softly to them, calling them “minet” or, feminine, “minette.” He pronounced it “mee-neh.”

As an adult, I had a little trouble researching the meaning of this, because it is nonstandard French and hardly ever appears in French/English dictionaries or textbooks. It is essentially what we’d call “baby talk” in imitation of childish speech. As such, it means roughly “sweetie pie” or “my pet” or… “kitten.”

So, when he was cuddling his grandchildren, he was calling them, “my sweet kitties.”

Maybe Lupin will be a hot dog.

Love children are people-kittens. So cute.

Fortunately, no one else was in the office when I burst out laughing at Pepperoni Pucky & Pepperoni Georgia!!

It just occurred to me that all three of our reporters are dressed up like food.

(Yes, I’m a tad slow on the uptake sometimes.)

Puck has the right idea, embrace your inner pizza. Especially since you have to eat it first.

Can’t wait to see what Lupin is dressed as!

Ah, so we aren’t the only people to refer to small children as “human kittens”.

Give Puck a katana and he can be a Samurai Pizza Cat. :D Also, Elvis’ costume is quite appropriate, chronologically speaking, as Halloween is on a Tuesday this year.

When my kids were born (one a home birth) we explained to the cats they were our kittens, and they seemed to understand. The cats we had then are long gone to the Rainbow Bridge, but our current fellows seem to understand when we call the visiting sons our grown up kittens.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Waffle is an attention sponge.

Hard to think of a white-colored fast food for Lupin (I thought a rice dish, but, naw) – so maybe he could be a DESSERT like:

- an ice cream dish, or ice cream float,

- a slice of pie A LA MODE, or

- a slice of cream pie with meringue!

Pretty sure we’ll find out soon!

Pepperoni is my favorite too Georgia.

The dollop of whipped cream on the top of a piece of pumpkin pie? The foam on a cappuccino? A meringue cookie? A piece of Wonder bread? A parsnip?

Now Pucky, all cats know (even if appallingly few people do) ANYTHING can and should lead to cats getting treats.

Elvis as a taco is the first taco-in-a-tie that I’ve ever seen.

“People-kitten” has been the family term for how cats refer to human babies ever since Diana and Smoke gave Newborn Sionyx a sniffover.

I miss the boys complaining about the costumes, but oh, well. We still have the old strips!

If I dressed my pets up then they certainly would receive treats.

Years ago I knew a family who had an enormous male brown tabby manx cat. Their daughter used to dress him up in old baby clothes, which of course fit him perfectly since he had no tail. Until you actually peeked under the bonnet rim and saw this furry brown face and big orange eyes looking at you, you could actually believe that this was a human baby, lying perfectly relaxed on his back in her arms.

Now THAT was a tolerant cat!!
