Luann is strangely incompetent for a “functioning” adult – she can hardly clean her room, let alone paint it.

Who does not put the LID on while carrying?? It seems she has no common sense.

Not quite how she’d intended to repaint.

It’s amazing all the shade thrown at a young woman just trying to fix up her room; where were all these foaming-at-the-mouth fang bearers when Les was stealing tip money from his coworkers? Oh, right, that was ok, because the poor dear had a mean Mommie…

CAPRIBOOBOOPIEDO of course is 100% perfection and has never ever made even the smallest mistake. How wonderful for you…

“ROSETTE” is yet another perfect being. There are so many who have never made a mistake. How wonderful. I’m sure everyone in their lives would totally agree…

Dad will have to bail out Luann now that Brad has abdicated. But he won’t go for multi-color swirls.

And Luann will not likely be able to sleep in her room tonight. Or maybe this entire week.

And the painting begins…

Luann is a very young 19 at this point – like 19 going on 12.

So the entire purpose of this arc is to have the DeGoot family bury a green Puddles?

“Oop”? Since Brad is leaving, she might be calling her friend, Alley, from the town of Moo.

Sigh… she really is a complete dingbat. I can be pretty clumsy and uncoordinated myself (and I have terrible balance), but I’m also smart enough to be aware of my limitations and compensate for them: Don’t take chances when carrying stuff, and double check everything. Also keep a firm grip at all times and be aware of one’s surroundings. For example, I’ve never shattered a phone because I’m careful with it. I don’t even need a sturdy case for protection because I simply don’t let myself drop it. Luann should’ve checked the lids on the paint before picking them up, and definitely shouldn’t have double-stacked them. Uncoordinated and unintelligent is a dangerous combination.

I hope Luann has hardwood floors in stead of carpeting in her room

Luann knew enough to “Shanghai” Brad into “helping” her clean her room. She knew enough to find left over paint in the garage, and, to try to get Brad to “help” her do that as well. Does she know enough to be able to clean up pilled paint? Brad knew enough to bail before that happened, besides he’s got a dinner date with his gorgeous wife

“Tune in tomorrow for “the green spill.” Thats why u need a boyfriend Luann. Too bad Quill isnt around to help. I hope u guys will get back together someday. Then cleaning will be fun for you.

Uh, Luann? That’s really not how you start ‘going green’!!!

You know. spills CAN be cleaned up. IMAGINE THAT!

I know that this week’s arc is what it is but I would like to have been able to listen to Brad and Luann talking to each other (either while driving to the movies or cleaning her room) about what had been going on in their lives lately. It would be nice to see them just having some personal sharing time as brother and sister.

When I was about Luann’s age, I had some wild ideas about how I wanted to redo my room. My mother pointed out that it was HER HOUSE, that I probably wouldn’t be living there much longer, and that any redecorating would be done to HER taste.

Fast forward to a few years ago. I had a daughter in her 20’s who was engaged, and yet still planning to paint her bedroom here in my house BLACK. I told her that wasn’t going to happen. Her bedroom is now my office.

Luann does not own the house, she cannot paint any part of it without permission of the owners.

They changed the comics page again. How can I go from one comic to the next in the dozen I follow? I read the instructions but I can’t see any way to do it. Thanks.

Even at Luann’s age, I knew not to carry paint that way.

Luann had Brad for an extra half-hour already (the deal was 150 minutes; he says he put in 3 hours=180 minutes). That may or may not be equivalent to the time she will need to clean the green paint spill.

And so it goes….

y’know, none of the paint stores I frequent have the whole label the same color as the paint.

Luann is getting an aptitude test to guide her on life’s future road. Stay away from hand – eye co-ordination projects, do not attempt to be a waitress, or get a job on a bomb disposal team.

Judging from most of these comments, I would presume no one here has ever had spilled or broken anything on accident. This is called ‘life’, folks and sometimes s—t happens. It’s unfair to regard Luann as ‘incompetent’ for making a common mistake that many people do everyday.
