Hey Les. Yell LOUDER! I don’t think Your Mom Heard You! (Excuse Me, Miss)
Les, I gotta admit this is one BRILLANT Idea of Yours. Tipping Your Mom off about Tiffany’s “plan” to Bring her down. Ha! Tiffany will waltz in and find everything on the Up and Up! Epic FAIL!
Your Mom will be SAFE, and She’ll think so Highly of You She’ll Double Your share of tonight’s and every night’s “Take.”
And Then Later, (And this is the Beauty Part) You can tell a Tearful Tiff that You have absolutely NO Idea what went wrong, but come what may, You’re Here for Her 24/7, Night or Day No matter What with Your Shoulders for Her to Cry on! She fall head over heels for Ya. Excellent!
Just Think. You Save Your Mom’s hide, She thinks Highly of You, She double Your share of take, You Comfort a Tearful Tiffany, and then You’re able to get into Her Pan….WHAT?
I’m already suspicious of Les’s true agenda. He acted “Ahhh, Tifffaaanny”??? Not so Les. He’s up to something. He better not throw a monkey wrench in Tiffany’s showdown with Ann.
Okay so the battle is about to start. My question is whether the son will betray Tiffany to save his mom from shame, and possibly worse, or will he betray his grifter mom, even though she has been a terrible mom. The distinction between Gunther and his over-mothering mom, and Les and his criminally-negligent mom cannot be more stark. Where does his heart lie?
Does Tiffany honestly think her father hasn’t shown Ann a photo of her? Even if she’s gained a few pounds, she hasn’t changed her hair or face at all. She might as well use her real name. Or better still, she could have just called the cops and let them handle this instead of relying on some risky venture like this.
My prediction: Plan will backfire. Les will have played a part in it. Unknowing, Tiff will seek solace from Les. Gunther will see thru the subterfuge, Tiff will not. Much jealous drama to follow.
Hey Greg, just wanted to acknowledge (zooming out from the immediate panels) — how far you (& the Luanniverse) have come in the last 10-15 years. This is taking on the shape and texture of a real graphic novel (in a good way!) — Multiple plotlines, humor mixed with pathos, plot and ambiguous situations, mixed motivations. Kudos 2 you & yours! Tally Ho! Let the games begin! Go Tif!
Let’s HOPE this ends with a George Peppard moment at the conclusion of all this, with Tiffany saying, “I love it when a plan comes together!” (Maybe with or without a fired-up cigar, but HECK! Tiff may want to celebrate!)
My beloved Tiffany is pretty slick, quite the maverick. She will end this trafficking in sick tricks on the thick-as-a-brick hicks, licking the nogoodnik chick who cheated her friends in a way which simply isn’t cricket.
Tiff is a little shaky in the starting blocks. So, ruthless Ann should embarrass her until some unexpected help arrives, like TJ, or Toni, or even Leslie.
Today reads to me like the “Mid-Week Filler” that is common on Wednesday. However, there are still a few things that seem worthy of commenting on:
1) It is surprising that Les, with his background, so easily hollers out “Tiffany Farrell!” when he should easily recall this is the start of a “Sting” or perhaps “Paper Moon” sort of scheme in which he is at least ancillarilly involved.
2) The “ick” statement was, IMO, the funniest part about today. I enjoyed that.
3) The actual word, printed on her shirt, “Wicked”…. I guess this can be taken on several levels…. a) Tiffany is going to “down and dirty” in her fight with Ann (therefore, "wicked), b) a reference to the musical (which is about the two witch characters from the Wizard of Oz)…. which can serve as a allegory of sorts for what is happening here… Tiffany vs. Ann, and c) a current, frequently used colloquial phrase by younger folks today…. " it is ’wicked’" (it is very good).
4) I still feel a bit nervous about Tiffany here…. I worry a bit that her desire for “vengence” may make her effort too much… and she lands in trouble too. Instead, I hope that her focus is more only on “justice” which should help her keep her actions appropriate… and keep herself safe.
Right now I tend to agree with those that think shouting out Tiff’s name was a tip off to Ann Awful. I wonder whose name he put on the list, Ferrell or St. Louis? Sounds like it was Ferrell. Either way mom could now know who the ringer is.
Thinking about this more (thinking more about a comic? get a life, Someguy!).
Ahem, thinking more on this, I don’t think The Plan is going to either succeed or fail. The entire arc is going to take a sudden left turn shortly. Will Ann’s supplier be Tiff’s dad? Something off the tracks is going to happen…
It’s really tuff to get rid of an old wolf. Not a chance there. They always and I mean always figure a way to turn things around and slide out of any trap and make you feel good about it.

Sheraton on a Wicked theme:
Fellow Luannites:
Let us be glad
Let us be grateful
Let us rejoicify that goodness (and expensive lingerie) could subdue
The wicked workings of the Eiffelly one.
Isn’t it nice to know
That good will conquer evil?
The truth we all believe’ll by and by
Outlive a lie (about Souffle)
For you and I live to another day.
No one mourns the Wicked
