Puck deserves his own holiday!

It’s only fitting to praise the brave kitty who protects you from the leaves!

October is Black Cat Month.

Happy Pucktober, Orbsters! Sorry I missed last night, but my nephew came down from San Francisco with his wife to show off her brand-new baby bump! It was a grand evening, didn’t get home till 2am. And she’s a real sweetie, too! Mom even let me bless the little boy. Great night!

Bob took Megan and Tre-C through the main entrance to the first interior “chamber”- NOW they could hear the music- where the “cashier”, a good-natured Calico, sat. “Good evening, ladies. I’m Cassie… you know your first drink is complimentary, but if you’d like we can debit your card now and give you the script for the live entertainment. First purchase at the door is two for one!” Megan turned to Tre-C and said, “THAT explains it..” under her breath. “I think we’ll start with 50, Cassie, and see where the night goes from there.” Megan replied, handing the card to the young molly. “Thank you- would you like a tote?” Megan looked past Cassie to the main hall doorway, then to the camera over the door; “No, thank you dear, I have a pocket.” Then she and Tre-C stepped through the large mirrored door and into the main room. Bob was waiting for them, and he guided the two cats past the gold ropes and to their seats. “What can I get you to start?”

Well Elvis, Puck offered to let you help, almost begged you to help save everyone from the leaves, but you were too busy listening to the sound of your own voice and “registering your complaint.” You shouldn’t think it strange that they are celebrating the one who actually did something to save everyone. Obviously, someone needs to bring the news to the public, but when there’s a leaf emergency, Every Cat Must Do His Duty! Somehow, one brave cat managed, single-pawedly, to avert disaster this year. He deserves the favoritism. Even the People can see that, and they’re oblivious to most things (important things, anyway).

I can’t remember the last time we saw the baby – she’s gotten so big and smiley!

Looks like Lupin and Elvis are feeling a tad left out. No holidays I can think of have a Siamese or white cat for the mascot. Best thing they can do is make one up.

Gonna have to start lighting my little ceramic jack-o-lantern soon to keep the spooks at bay. Gotta a nice spiced pumpkin candle in it.

So . . . where’s Swan Eaters? It’s supposed to start today. Will they update the new ones later? Did they forget?

Sim Update: Sim is spending the night at the vet. He was x-rayed and he has a fractured/broken forehead. There is no bone in soft tissue since the sinuses are behind the forehead area. He is being given pain relief, fluids, and anti-inflammatories. He hadn’t eaten by about 1pm so the vet decided to keep him over night just to make sure that he will eat. Once he does, he gets to come home!

Well Lupin, not quite everything is decorated in Puck’s likeness. For instance, the Woman hasn’t put Puck face masks on you and Elvis. Yet.

Good morning and happy Monday/Funday, orbsters and orbabies. I like the celebration of all things Puck in today’s strip. Poor Elvis and Lupin, with their noses out of joint. And the Baby is adorable in her Puck outfit.

We don’t have everything in Puck’s image around our home. We have everything in the image of central Florida’s murine overlord.

Just a note about today. Petey has been banished to the office with the door closed. He has been trying to ‘help’ the Andersen Window installer with the replacement windows. Unfortunately the installer doesn’t need the cords chewed. Petey is not happy.

It’s almost Puckoween! That magical night when everyone will get dressed up as Puck and go door to door collecting salmon jerky!

Well, as we start getting ready for Halloween, Oktoberfest is coming to a close. Just started marinating the roast for the sauerbraten I’ll be making in a few days. Going to have to decide what I’ll serve with it, but I have a few days to decide. Then it’s on to Halloween cooking for me.

Interesting start. I’ve followed it.

Sim Update #2: Sim is home! yay! He ate earlier today at the vet (he chose kitten food out of all the food that was offered to him). He also finally went for a wee. He was holding on had to be encouraged by the vet to wee. He is currently a little high as he was getting opiate based painkillers at the vet. I was told he is very smoochy when high by the vet. (glad he is a happy drunk).He has some nasty head wounds, but is doing well. He will be on a anti-inflammatory pain killer for a week or two for head fracture, and antibiotics for a week for the head wounds. He has to be back in a week of a check up. We saw his x-rays and the forehead section of the skull has been pushed into his sinus cavity. It didn’t pierce his brain membrane so that is really good. He will forever have a flatter head.

He is currently lounging in the sun in the cat room, happy to be home.
