I hope that Wiley puts this story arc into its own book someday. Wiley is an excellent artist and places real-world issues into his medium for us to think about.
People whom are annoyed at the obvious parallels to current political issues are simply angry that the issues are getting additional airtime.
In the year 2000, Wiley’s story arc was warning us about Media company’s like Fox News and their insidious mission. He used a character he created called Professor Obfuscate: “So you’re the one responsible for turning people into media zombies”.
This story arc is simply another warning, couched in media of a comic strip.
When you react to everything like it’s related to your particular hatred of a particular thing or person, it becomes an obsession that flows into and contaminates every aspect of your life.
You see everything through the lens of your hatred, and you become less of a person, and more of a aggressive malignancy that attempts to contaminate everything and everyone around you.
Your hatred will eventually consume you, and those whom you manage to drag down with you.
Ironically, this applies to both conservatives and liberals, Christians and nonbelievers.
Interesting concept of art that some people have. Some dislike it if it makes you think, some like the anticipation, and some think it seems to come from a type of machine at the flip of a switch. I like to wait and see what happens next and where it takes characters. And us. Thank for the journey.
Seems like Wiley needs a vacation to recharge his batteries. I look forward to seeing what comes this spring, in the meantime there’s plenty of fodder in the news to draw from.

Have to remember to skip the spring because I sure won’t remember the previous weeks by then!

I just hope this story line continues. It wouldn’t be the first in the history of wrting to have an intermission and then never come back.

If people want something to really worry about — Wiley never said he’d be doing other strips to fill up the intermission…
