When he was alive, I wished my sweet boy Whiskers enjoyed being carried and snuggled. I would have gladly carried him around in a Little Koala Baby Wrap!
Hi all. For anyone who is still interested in the story I’ve been writing, I’m hoping this is the last time I will need to update the links. I have completed the story, and if I do any more with it, I will just be polishing it. So, here are the current links:
OT – Nushi update!!! Nushi is up to 5.36 lbs (2.43 kg)!! she was 4.87 lbs when I took her to the vet on 5/29 and I feel sure she had already lost weight. She got down to 4.35 lbs on 6/6 before she turned it around (yes, she lost .5 lbs in 8 days which is why I was freaking out! I can lose that in an hour, but at her size that’s 10 percent of her body weight! (I think…it’s late, so tell me if I got that right). Anyway, SO pleased!!!
AND she used her litterbox again, and this time I THINK the dreaded diarrhea is done. I did jinx it last time by saying it was over, thus the equivocation. I think it was the brand of meds I was using as things really firmed up as soon as I switched. Her tummy feels more normal to me as well. The word is that cats seem to react differently to the different brands. I do feel I should make sure that you all know she used to be a perfect lady in all her litterbox habits prior to the ataxia. I’m sure she will return to that soon.
AND she jumped up on the bed instead of using her “stairs” I made for her out of two small footrests. My bed is even higher than the back of the couch and it wasn’t a kitten jump, where half of it is climbing, it was a full on all four on the floor (or bed) for the landing!
A good couple of days! Shot #23 today and in just 5 days she will be 1/3 of the way through the baseline treatment. Then her dosage will go up from .6 to .8 mg/kg, hopefully for the rest of the treatment. We’ll know better after the bloodwork we will get done soon after her 4 weeks are done. Whew! Have I mentioned lately how grateful I am for all of you? I’d say I too need a hug, but I feel them come in regularly. Purrzzz, boops and ankle reinforcements for all! (((((((((Mega-Orb and Team Nushi))))))))) Shirin
PS. I know I used more than my allotment of “!”’s (hmmm…not sure how to punctuate that), but I hope you will forgive me.
I wish I had thought of a baby wrap for my Tigger, he absolutely loved to be held and carried around and would hang over my shoulder like a big stripey scarf for as long as I would let him. Never long enough because he was a big sturdy boy and my shoulder would get very tired. Tigger is gone now but never forgotten.
Well, this is interesting. I’m having a disagreement with my laptop, so I decided to log into Go Comics with my phone. After making me jump through hoops and other amusing rigmarole, the site insists that I am gadenbaby, not LadyKat. Since we are heading up to the cabin for the long Canada day weekend, I will put up with this until we get back on Tuesday,,when I will try to straighten the whole mess out.
By the way, that’s a cute arrangement for Elvis and the Woman.
Someone posted this yesterday late, Georgia painted the painted the picture with the view from the back of the Big Pink House:
https://www.instagram.com/p/BzJsoZDnRpD/
Also in the comments on Facebook there is a real life picture of one of the houses. I can’t figure out how to post a link directly to the Facebook post so i you want to see that you can go to the about tab above and click on the Facebook icon.
The picture is actually going to be a Sunday strip in August.
I know what you all mean. I wish my little one were still here. She loved to be carried and snuggled. She would sleep on my left arm while I cooked and did housework with my right arm. It wasn’t easy, but I loved her so much. I didn’t have a carrier, but I would bunch up my shirt or dress to keep her secure. She was so accustomed to it, I could be sitting down with her sleeping on my lap, shift her to my left arm, get up and do whatever, and she would stay fast asleep, not moving an eyelash or tweaking an ear. It is incredible how these little furries get into our hearts and stay there forever.
It did get a bit odd, though. She was so into our being Best Friends Forever, she would follow me into the bathroom and use the litter box while I did my thing.
I love this! Every panel is perfect --from clingy Elvis, asking about the woman’s shampoo, (Elvis notices things like that since he is Mommy’s Special Boy) to the Woman with the little fang smile—-to Elvis’s smile as he is cuddled in carrier—-and, of course, the priceless look on the Man’s face!

The Woman seems to be channeling Puck there.
Also, I was waiting for this. Everyone should wear Siamese as fashion accessories! I mean, I saw someone wearing a porcupine once, so why not? :D

Awww! Been waiting sooooo long for that last panel! It’s priceless. It says: “Hold me, LOVE ME!” “Momma’s got you, my Special Boy!”

If I carried three of my cats that way, it would mean a trip to the emergency room. My back would be out of whack.

A Classic from Mel Carter: Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me
Hold me, hold me, I need a hug from you,
Oh have you told me, told me what is your new shampoo?
Just hold me, hold me,
Let me know that it will be alright!
…….
Hug me, hug me, my little friend has moved away,
And will the rug be, rug be, always soft most every day?
Will Lupin bug me, bug me?
A quiet nap will be outta sight!
…….
They say, be sensible and in charge, cat,
You know everything will be alright,
But problems now seem so large that
I just need to stop the world and get off the daily fight!
…….
Hold me, hold me, give me a reason to smile
And then I’ll be fine, be fine in just a little while
The world will be mine, be mine
This whole thing is all to show,
You’ll never, never, never let me go!
