Well, we wondered where Lupin was and now we know. He was preparing an ambush for the candle.

OT: Nushi update: Almost postive that Nushi is reacting well to the increased dosage. At least in terms of fighting this damn virus. Movement seems to be on the upswing again, which is good at long as it continues. The real worry is the blood-brain barrier developing resistance to the drug. That’s what makes the neuro version of FIP more difficult to treat.

However this increased dose because of the increased dosage made for a very difficult shot today. She growled and yowled and started to run off the table, even when she still had her yummy food in front of her. Not sure the food distraction, which is why she comes up on the table, is going to work much longer with these bigger shots. It took me 3 sticks to get all of the drug in. My poor baby. I’ll be looking into ways to decrease the pain. It would help if her skin wasn’t so tight from all the weight she is gaining (though I am glad she’s gaining weight!). It makes it really hard to tent the skin for the shot. I will maybe try the CBD oil tomorrow and see if she will tolerate the taste. Thanks for listening.

Happy Birthday Canada!, And yesterday was my last day of the morphine so yes I am having a few brewskies tonight! LOL

Years ago Cafe shut down a large party by getting up on a side table to lick the candle flames. Scared the guests into silence. He couldn’t understand why he was then sequestered in a bedroom for the rest of the party.

Elvis has to protect his baby girl. That means no fire.

There’s a reference to Gene Hackman’s scene in “Young Frankenstein” somewhere, but I can’t quite get to it.

This year don’t bother with candles for me. Just light the cake.

OT: UPDATE on my family-by-choice…

K continues to fade. Her daughter said a couple of days ago, “My mom doesn’t know who I am.”

M’s docs have been decreasing her sedation & she’s more alert but still in pain. She had a chest tube put in after fluid continued to build up around one lung. PT starts this week. They tried & failed to wean her off the vent. Her mom doesn’t want to leave her side but has run out of vacation & sick days & doesn’t have any savings to fall back on.

The wait goes on…somehow I’m managing not to fret too much…thank you all for your continued support…

Just turned my calendar and found Puck’s chart of the July Bug! Can’t wait to see Jules this month, I wonder what Georgia has in store. 1st year, Jules beat the Boys, 2nd year, the Boys beat Jules, last yr Jules was a hero, this year?

Remember: never reuse birthday candles. You might get someone else’s wish.

I baked my 70-year-old wife a birthday cake and covered it with candles (no, not all 70). It did set off the smoke alarm.

Well, I’m officially the most evil human ever as far as my cats are concerned. Dee & Dorian go to be neutered in the morning, so I just took up all of the cereal bowls before heading to bed. Dee & McDuff are following me everywhere to voice their complaints.
