Luann may be sadly mistaken if she thinks she’s in control; Neither Tara nor Nihl seemed to give a r@ts @ss to what she was saying until they saw Zebo standing behind her.

It seems the prep Mr. Zébo had Luann do built some character for her.

I do wonder how they would have reacted to Luann if the Zeeb wasn’t standing right behind her.

Geez. As always Tara smirked at Luann’s outburst until Zebo came behind Luann. She quickly switched gears and put on an “oh sorry” face. Luann now thinks they left out of respect to her unknowingly that Zebo was the one they turned and walked away from. Now Luann has developed an ego thinking she’s got respect from her peers. Will she go mad with power now?

I think her professor was giving her friends a look of authority – - you had better listen to LuAnn or else!

It is like Luann is a different person.

I really like Luann ‘s new role. The expression she makes in the third panel is total happiness, satisfaction and self-confidence. She freed herself from the doubts that Bernice had made her come. I like how Prof. Zebo watches over her without telling. A true teacher who helps young people. Also, it’s nice to see that Nil is able to have more that one expressions.

Real friends would not have tried that stunt. Jettison them.

I wonder, if she realizes that the teacher was right behind her?

At some point you start taking seriously whatever you are doing. Luann is getting there.

It was great that Luann got to assert herself with her friends no less. I don’t think she will let this go to her head, she is more likely to just be more confident, and hope that they will not stop being friends. They will not, they saw Professor Zebo with his intimidating self standing behind her when she was scolding them. Her smile of satisfaction and amazement at her power (such as it is) was the best for her. Hilarity and growth ensue. Don’t worry, they may tell her that Zebo was standing behind her, but I hope not, and I also hope that Luann stays humble, but confident, and with ethical scruples.

So, he’s proud of her? Or he’s smirking because he knows they only complied since they saw him standing behind her?

This is like what happens in anime

No flirting in college? That’s a major paradigm shift.

I’d want Luann as my teacher anytime, especially if it means she can get the kids in the public school system under control.

So now— unaware that Tara and Nil saw Zebo— Luann is going to be drunk with false power. In other words, she’ll be insufferable for a while…

Maybe Monday we can go to the gulag. We might see Bets & Gunther interacting with Tiffany & Les.

Luann believes she’s corrected her friends and made then straighten up in “her class”, almost reminds me of junior high or early years of high school. For Luann I’ll be curious to see where she takes this new “power”. Tara and Nil are another story… I doubt Tara loses her “wild hair” and Nil, you’ve been in the class, you know it’s an easy grade.

Luann has a brief occurrence of maturity that will soon disappear.

I’m surprised Luann demanded they not cut class. Colleges where I was, neither the professors nor the TAs took attendance. College students were mostly regarded as adults. If you weren’t in class, the professor didn’t ask about it. There might be a problem, however, if you were late with an assignment or missed a test.

Way to go, Luann! That’s telling them.

Waiting to see how Greg plays Luann’s new feelings of authority. Personally, I think he will showcase Luann as the opposite of Bernice. Remember that he already showed her with some maturity and gentle authority back when she mentored Fay in 2018 (March I think).

Somewhat startled to see Nil exhibit more than his, to date, single expression!

She’s doing great! He knows this so he’s lending her a little secret support.

Yeah! Luann starts to grow up! Healthy boundaries, and proactively setting the stage! As an artist, too, I heartily approve! …. Also, maybe Zebo will turn out to not be such an arrogant bonehead. Thank you, Greg, for letting your characters evolve.

I really appreciate the way the background shading transition brings focus to their faces in today’s strip.

my initial thought was that Luann is smiling because Zebo is backing her up and is pleased with her work. But there’s another way to see it. I think it’s cute that Zebo stands behind her with the same (hands on hips) pose; regardless, they’re a team!

Whether Zebo was there or not, this was Luann taking charge. A definite confidence-builder. Good for her!

She is all grown up. She is her own woman. We need her in the Army!

I wonder if Tara is going to get huffy with Luann after class.

Whether or not Luann knows Zebo is behind her doesn’t really matter. The take-away is that Zebo has her back and Nil and Tara know that; they will not try to take advantage of her any more.

And Mr. Zebo’s approval is NOT easy to obtain.

Luann thinks she has successfully imposed her TA Authority on Nil and Tara.

Don’t disillusion her, Zebo!

Hey, Zebo gave a boost to her self-confidence, and Luann was able to take a stand.

She’s not becoming a jerk, as some have said. You’re not a jerk when you establish parameters from the beginning.

This is not fun! First TJ got mature! And now Luann has gotten mature!
