Tiffany doesn’t look very happy holding the kitten. Leave it with Les. He needs it much more than she does. It’ll soften him up; make him a better guy.
Awwww. Les is so protective of little Punk and Gunther mocks at him exactly as a cousin would do. I know that Tiffany has serious problems and needs good advices, but this moment is so precious ♡♡♡
So. Some guy is ”attached” to kitten and he doesn’t want to give it up, eh? Probably the first pet the guy has ever had.
But, what happens when it’s adoption time, and the guy HAS to give the kitten up? What if the recipient is a sick little child that wants kitten for their very OWN. Would said guy be a monster and keep “His” kitten and wind up breaking a sick child’s heart? Or would he selflessly give the kitten up just to make a child happy, and becoming a “hero“ in the process. Hard decisions may soon have to be made concerning Les’ kitty.
Speaking of “Les,” WHERE Is he anyway? Because whoever this black haired guy is? It sure ain’t “Les.” ;)
Oh. And if all else FAILS, Tiffany SHOULD take one of the kittens, stay in school and move back home with Tom and Ann.
Ann will either, HATE the cat and having it around will drive her up the wall, much to Tiffany’s delight. OR Ann will Love little kitty (As Witches Love cats) and be changed into a New Acceptable Creature! Much like it changed whoever that black haired guy is in today’s Strip. ;)
I knew Les likes that kitten, and I cannot help getting into the predictive business with misdirection central (I think Greg just loves to surprise his viewers, and us commentators) but I think Tiffany will give “Punk” back to Les. Punk will be fine don’t worry. How this leads to her crises of confidence I don’t know, but I do know a solution: BETS WHERE ARE YOU? These guys are sweet (even Les in his Les way) but totally clueless.
Tiffany needs some practical advice here. Adopting a cat right now isn’t it. Although I do agree that animals can be helpful with stress and depression. And today’s strip does show how attached Les has gotten to the little guy. I’d say Punk isn’t going anywhere. But Les will be happy to let Tiffany visit anytime.
We seem to be witnessing the remaking of the Les character into someone a little less sinister version. After all, it’s been almost three years since he skimmed Fuse money for Pru’s gift and dinner.
GnK seem to be transitioning him into a cynical curmudgeon.
I bet Tiffany moves in to save $$. The resulting “family” of misfits, complete with pets, results in positive personal growth & development for all three of them.
On one hand, Tiff has found her one true love, but on the other hand, that means she’ll have to pay for her true love’s shots, food, collars, and litter, as she is currently dealing with school and bills at the moment. It’s almost as if she doesn’t have time for love.
You know, there’s a good cheap comic book parody in all this. Either Gunther or Les (not TIffany – it’s already been done with girls) take in the cats, who have never forgotten that they were once worshiped in Ancient Egypt. Led by Moe, the feline horde learn to mentally communicate with the chosen one, who uses their powers to stop evildoers dead in their tracks with their cuteness until the police arrive.
Nice delay from GnK that really shows us more of the human side of Les; caring for something else. I’ll also bet he cares about Gunther too (along with his Uncle and Irma). The street tough is crumbling. Surprise on Saturday (maybe Sunday given the change up we’ve seen) will be the more about Tiffs dilemma with the next set being the recommendation of her getting Bets as a study buddy/roomies (sorry, no threes company though I like the idea). The big question is do we continue this arc or bounce back to Luann and her issue….
At the start of this week I thought this story line was leading to substance and character growth but it just derailed into nonsense. I guess I should stick to Downton Abby and stop expecting so much from comics lol.
Gunther is being a jerk today. He knew Les was getting attached to Punk so he tried to give the kitten away. It is rare when Les comes off nicer than Gunther but he does today. Punk is good for Les. The kitten brings out his nicer side.
So…. we see a substantial indication that Les actually really likes “Punk” and would not want to give him/her up.
I think Gunther’s response to Les is a bit on the mean side. Granted, Les has been mean to Les… and Gunther is pushing Les’ buttons. But, Gunther teasing Les in that way…. it seems like it would NOT be in Gunther’s personality to do that.
I think there is a reasonable possibility that tomorrow, Tiffany will somehow inform the dynamic duo that she is in financial peril….. so the Gulag trio can begin……. at least until Mr. Gray & Ms. Gray-Berger find out….. who knows if they will go for it or not.
I once told my wife that her nephew might be a bit like the old family dog…it helped if you knew him when he was a puppy. Looking at him now, I have come to realize he was still a puppy at the time.
This is kinda dumb. First off, the kittens are FOSTERS. Meaning that they’re too young to be adopted out, and theiy’re supposedly being fostered until they come of age. Second, they have medical needs, and need their meds every X hours. With Tiff at school AND working at the Fuse, how exactly is she supposed to handle these very necessary needs? Third, it was Irma who signed the paperwork to take on the kittens as fosters. So how is Punk all of sudden Gunther’s to palm off on someone else? Fourth, having a kitten is very time and attention consuming, even if it doesn’t have medical needs. With Tiff living alone in a dorm, who will be taking care of the kitten while she’s at school and at work? And, as others have noted, Tiff is in dire financial straits right now, and can hardly afford food, litter, supplies, for the kitten, let alone give the time and attention it needs.
Guess who DOES have the resources to take care of the kitten? Oh yeah, IRMA…. the person who signed the paperwork to take on the kittens in the first place!
So, the kittens’ status has just been obfuscated. Just whose cats are they, anyway? And I agree with everybody today that Gunther is totally out of character: If he teases Les simply because Les has been cruel to him in the past, that would make him about as bad as most folks around here think he is.
At this point, it sure looks like this arc is “going into overtime.” No way we’re going to get to the bottom of anything with only one day left this week.
I really was looking forward to some story and character development this week.
Pets don’t judge; their affection is unconditional, something Les needs and wants but has not previously experienced. Hence, he will not give up Punk. Punk is teaching him how to care.

Gunther, Tiffany is having financial problems already. The last thing she needs is a bunch more expenses like cat food, kitty litter, vet bills.

Aw. Les wants to keep Punk. And I agree – Taking Punk would mean expenses Tiffany doesn’t have. And the dorm does not allow pets anyway.

Hmmm, this could be the beginning of Tiffany moving in with the boys and the litter.
sueb1863 about 5 years ago
Really doubt the dorm allows pets.
Plus, as someone pointed out, pets can be expensive. If she can’t afford her rent she sure as heck can’t afford food, litter, and vet bills.
And I can’t see Tiffany scooping out a cat box every day and dealing with hairballs and cat barf.

Why would you suggest that? She has enough money problems as it is.
