You can deny anything without proof.

    And with it too.

Lupin looks like he’s having an Elvis Glare moment in panel three. Elvis really is giving him lessons!

Wow, I’ve never seen our Cat of Adventure so upset! He could rival Mr. Angry Fussy Paws in the third and fourth panels. Poor Lupin, no one believes him. Maybe he should swipe Pucky’s camera and snap a piccie of the elusive ginger kitty. ♥

He’s a little busy right now, Lupin – saving all life as he knows it. Can you set up a meeting to discuss this “strange cat” for tomorrow when imminent death isn’t on the line?

Does Puck not “chitter” at the leaves as he shoos them away?

Steely Dan asked that musical question: Are You Reelin’ in the Years?

The sightings of a strange new cat

    May very well be true,

But Lupin, as you well know

I have important things to do.

So I’ll be glad to talk with you

    Later in the day,

But you know I must stay here

    And shoo these leaves away!

    …….

Are you shooing all the leaves?

    Covering up the ground?

If we do not chase them today,

    Tomorrow nothing will be found!

    …….

Puck, there really is no proof

    The leaves do any harm,

But a strange orange cat lurking around

    Is cause for such alarm!

I am sure the leaves can wait

    For another day

But out there is a strange new cat

Who she is I cannot say!

    …….

Are you shooing away the leaves?

When there could be a threat?

Leaves may really be a danger,

But we do not know that yet!

Excellent glare, Lupin. Puck, old man, you need to consult our upstairs neighbour. Yesterday he was trying to vacuum leaves during a thunderstorm.

Love the panel-by-panel shift of Lupin’s ears as his feelings deepen. Georgia is a genius at expressing cat emotions!

It is interesting to see Puck and Lupin at odds, usually it is Elvis and Lupin. Sweet Puck takes he responsibilities seriously and is trying to acknowledge Lupin’s concerns while still sticking to his important task. I think Lupin is just seeing though as Puck being condescending to him. Being the youngest he might feel like he isn’t being treated as an equal.

“It’s Life Puck, but not as we know it.”

“Not as we know it. Not as we know it.”

“It’s life Puck, but not as we know it.”

“Not as we know it, Pucky!”

To the tune of Star Trekkin’, Across the Universe.

    OT: Eye Doc Report

The eye doc was THRILLED at how well the vision in my left eye has recovered. She said that of the half-dozen or so cases she’s seen (she’s 50ish, so one every 3 years or so?), mine has been the most complete recovery. It’s now correctible to a borderline 20/30 (I could make out 2 of 4 letters on the 20/30 line).

It’s still streaky & annoying, like looking thru an ancient, filthy window, but it’s continued to improve over the 6 months since the last time I was there. I’ll take it!

Lupin is manifesting his inner Elvis in the last panel. I wonder: I’ve been told that we tend to dislike people who have characteristics or traits we dislike in our selves, especially if those people are also otherwise similar to us—sort of a Jekyll and Hyde effect. I wonder if something similar is true of cats.

My cats chase leaves because of the wonderful crackling sounds the leaves make when caught.

You tell him, Lupin. A ton of leaves falling a a single brick, that would be something to worry about. A ton of leaves falling as leaves do, fluttering down rather gently on the breeze, no need to worry as they’ll spread out.
