Don’t know about anyone else, but to me, this week has been useless.

Luann!Now unless Bets posts on social media “how far she and Gun have gone,” (And that’s highly likely, by the way) how exactly are you going to find out?

To Bernice, sex is like a flu shot. Once a year should be enough. Maybe you might need a booster shot, after another week or two.

See Luann, bernice wants you to butt out of gun and bets private relationship. Gun isn’t the type of boy to kiss and tell, you of all people should know that. As figured, bernice is trying to get through Luann’s thick skull that if gun and bets want her to know what they do in bed, they will say it.

It is time for Bernice to trade her shirt with Luann and move on.

Comic strips don’t usually have a time frame for closure as movies do. But if Luann were a rom-com, the question would be how, not if, Luann and Gunther get together. The art is all in delaying the cadence, as we say in classical music. Greg could get Luann and Gunther together without ending the strip, just having it transition to a whole new phase. But I see a problem. Peanuts once had an arc where Snoopy had a big conflict with a cat. But Schulz gave up on that fast…it made Snoopy too much like a real dog! Marriage has made Brad too much like a real man…and he hasn’t been comedy gold for years. And as Luann gets more an more like a real young woman she also gets less funny (which is perhaps why so many arcs center on Tiffany these days). Requited love would make Luann fatally real.

Finally in frame 3, it’s Luann with the wit.

I kinda doubt Luann would ask Gunther outright – but we may get another week with Luann hinting to Gunther and Gunther squirming trying to figure out a reply.

I’m not nosy.

I just want to know. See?

Interesting way to address the issue of sex between in this level of the strip development.

Luann’s shirt in the last panel reminds me of the Bikini Weenies TJ produced while he was working at Weenie World. Looks like Greg might have another shirt for sale soon. $29 with the bikini on the zucchini, $59 and the bikini comes off. Full frontal zucchinudity.

Ok Lu…if you go through with this, then you forfeit any claims of protest if say…Tiffany, Bets, or anyone else find any personal facts (especially in regards to ‘carnality’) about you that you would rather keep confidential between you and your partner.

There was noting on Luann’s shirt all week until the 10th. Then there was a slight outline of what may show up, but not enough detail. The the 11th, we have full frontal exposure. Way to rock our world.

Bernice tries to pretend to be the adult of the situation. But Luann knows how madly she wants to know too. What a couple of true friends. They really know everything about each other ♡. Also, l love Luann’s shirt.

Considering we haven’t seen any romance beside a kiss, I doubt they have gotten that involved. Usually we see romantic suggestions (Gun and Tiff) or awkward situations (Gun climbing out LuAnn’s window) but here nothing.

Screw all this. Neil Peart, perhaps one of the greatest drummers and lyricists died yesterday from a Glioblastoma, also known as glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), which is the most aggressive cancer that begins within the brain. Poor guy. For the uninitiated, he was with the Canadian Progressive Rock band RUSH. They made 20 studio albums, he was on all of them, 19 of which had the exact same lineup. that alone was a feat not often repeated.

Luann; satisfy your curiosity about where Betts and Gunther’s relationship has progressed if you must. But for a person who probably hasn’t gone past “first base,” I wonder why you’re so curios. I’d think you’d be more worried about your own relationships, or, lack there of.

There’s nothing wrong with being curious. It’s acting on that curiosity that can be—can be—a problem.

These two are just behaving like typical inexperienced yet curious virgins. Luann May also fear that her deep friendship with Gunther is over now because of Bets. Something they had in common may now be gone. That may very well be true. Now—-will he tell her all or leave her guessing?

I’d like to see the girls spy on them.

I guess I’m too old – this in very uninteresting. I usually like the story arcs. Oh well, I can wait.

So, gang, how far have Bets and Gunny gone? Kinda depends on which one has taken the lead, I’d suspect….

Prediction: Episode finished.

OK. Greg has Luann voicing what most commenters have been curious about. H’s tweeked the censors’ noses about as far as he can take it with the zucchini in a (someone’s) bikini. He may give “the question” a rest for a while before returning to it. Or he may start another Gunther/Bets episode to keep the “the question” hot in our frontal lobes.

So Greg has a thing about giving “nerdy” Gunther this subdued sexy aura. Over the years, Greg has teased readers mercilessly about Gunther’s physical attributes, libido and make out prowess: 3Jun1996, 26JUL2003, 22 & 23Jun2010, 1 thru 16MAY2015, 9FEB2019, etc. Not to mention the whole Rosa episode; which was more about chaste love anyway.

Makes one wonder where and how far Greg is willing to take this; and when?

Plot twist: Bernice is secretly getting it on the regular, her telling Luann to butt out is part of her ongoing disinformation campaign to keep things on the DL.

Luann looks to be headed for a career in tabloid “journalism”. Can we be DONE with this arc, already?

Luann is not going to ask Bets and Gunther about their sex life. She is just curious about what people their age do and wants to talk to Bernice about it. You have to wonder why Luann even hangs around with Bernice anymore. They don’t enjoy each other.

They are both attempting to live vicariously through Gunther now.

Okay, I give up. I’ve read all the posts up ’til now, and nobody has been able to tell me what the shirt actually SAYS. So, what DOES it say?

Boy do these two need to get to some serious dating.

Sometimes a zucchini is just a zucchini. In this case, however, in this case, I think Greg was channeling the more esoteric Freudian concepts.

Wonder how long it will be until Rosa shows up with Gunther’s kid. Seems about the right story line for that to happen.

As I remember Luann, on three occasions, making out with Quill, brought him to an explosive brink and then backed off. Now she’s wondering what she missed.

That’s easy. Gunther has gone as far as Bets wants him to go.

I figure that if or when they find out that Gun and bets are having sex everyone will know or rumors abound. Guns mom will freak and Les will never let Gun live it down. I believe that here, we have the basic Luann comic strip concept. Two curious girls pondering life, but afraid of experiencing it. From little moppets reading movie magazines to young ladies with ipads, they travel on an endless circular road from which Greg will never allow them to take an exit ramp.

Luann could ask Les if Gunther has been staying out all night.
