I mimic âTPâ with the same motion as âmake it rainâ: https://i0.wp.com/writesomeshit.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/michelle-obama-make-it-rain.gif
A comedian once noticed that people still point to their wrists to ask âwhat time is it?â even in these days when everyone gets the time from their phones.
He then went on to wonder why they donât make an equivalent gesture for âI need to use the bathroomâ.
There is a reason for that. It has been shown that when you cross a threshold, your mind sorta resets itself to a new environment. This is why we forget what we came for when we move into another room. If you repeat to yourself what it is you were looking for while crossing the threshold, your mind will include that in the reset. Making a motion mimicking the use of the object you are looking for will do the same thing.
Thatâs just silly. Opal knows exactly where the new toilet paper is â where she always puts it after buying it. Itâs Earl who probably wouldnât know where to look if the roll in the bathroom ran out. And I bet he wouldnât go looking so he could replace it either. Scissors, on the other hand, you carry about with you to use in different places and heavens knows where you last put them down.
