Goldie, it’s rude to cover your whiskers when you’re talking to (and about) someone who’s deaf. Also, you’re making Puck uncomfortable. I think most of us here would consider that rude as well. As a private eye, you do have some leeway in the rude department, but only when necessary for the case. Bonus points, though, for believing Lupin.
The Case of the Vase……Goldie is not fond of Lupin but her skill as a detective makes her consider “ The facts, mam, only the facts”. Love the ‘noire look in the first three panels.
I love this story arc! Goldie’s view of Lupin in panel 2 is hilarious, he does look like he has a pair of pincers instead of claws, I can’t help laughing at it! Great job by Georgia!
Happy Birthday to the Man! Once again, here is a link to Georgia’s Instagram from the bottom of the page Twitter link. Such a beautiful family of people and pets too.
Goldie, who has stolen from Lupin twice now: he’s a jerk.
Like great she believes him, but c’mon, acknowledge your own shortcomings. Also it should be obvious to Lupin’s ‘friends’ he didn’t do it; whenever Lupin does stuff like that he’ll own it, quite proudly most times. Despite being so hyper, Lupin’s my fave boy and he’s getting much grief of late. Meanwhile, Elvis who is a jerk 90% of the time, and Goldie who introduces herself with theft, get away with it.
(I also admit to being a little biased towards Lupin, as well as the situation kind of hitting close to home regarding family injustices like that, so feel free to ignore me.)
Bitten by a radioactive crab, here’s the aMEOWzing Crab-Cat! Nemesis of crooks and evildoers, an avid adventurer cat, he stays under cover as a not so mild mannered TV reporter. With great powers comes great meowsponsibility!
National Burnt Offering Day otherwise known as National S’mores Day —Those of you fond of the things, don’t get the rest of us sticky …
National “Shapewear” Day —Why not call it like it is? Corsets can be decorative and sexy, as long as they aren’t too tight, or worn too long. Having had to wear an orthopedic corset for extended periods, I can attest that corsets, or anything that significantly changes human shape, should only be done of necessity. Loosen up.
Smithsonian Day —Perhaps some of us should be in a museum … I certainly feel old enough.
World Lion Day —Lions, like all the big cats, are in danger of extinction. I realize it’s anthropomorphism, but considering how symbolic the lion is to humans, I think we should preserve them. And, like Elvis, they have an inherent dignity.
National Spoil Your Dog Day — Well, yes, they are dogs, not cats, but still. Dogs really have only one fault: They don’t use a “dogbox,” … and they need baths … and need to be taken out for exercise … and …
Seriously, they are more dependent and needy than even the neediest cat. They thrive on good human interaction. As my wife says: “You can walk right past anybody in the world without so much as a nod. But you must say hello to a dog.”
Finally, it is National Lazy Day —I’m exhausted. Nap now.
Speaking of whiskers, this seems as good a time as any to muse out loud on whisker pads. Has anyone noticed, does everyone love, how expressive whisker pads are??? when my Russian Blue is in predatory mode, or when I’m dangling Da Bird in his face, his whisker pads poof out, and his whiskers move most expressively! I wish there was a way to convey that in comic form…
“What is she saying out loud?” Lupin just graciously allowed her to wear his hat and she immediately calls him a jerk. That girl need to learn some manners.
Queen Catshepsut the Golden: Well, someone made a real mess of things. We’ll just have to make the best of things.
Prophet Wicket: That is very wise. And remember to assume the best of everyone until they prove otherwise.
The Queen: Thank you, wise Temple Owl. How can we repay you?
Prophet Wicket: There is a mystery brewing with the cat prophet Talgu*. He was about to tell a bird the meaning of life, when all went dark. We fear the worst.
Puckmosis: A lot of people wonder if Talgu was heard of in Ancient Egypt. We see it on the mountaintops, but rarely does it fall here.
The Queen: I have heard from a reliable source that all will be well in the end.
*Talgu is that white stuff that falls from the sky in winter in the Northern Hemisphere, and the summer months in the Southern Hemisphere.
Out loud and trying to cover her mouth as she say it. Does covering half her whiskers negate Lupin’s ability to read whiskers? Or does that make her seem to mumble to him?

Lupin’s crab posture. Hahaha. Also, Goldie block is her whiskers so Lupin doesn’t know what she is saying – very crafty. And poor Pucky.

How else will the narrative move forward, Puck? She is in noir private eye mode and it is accurate.

Notice Goldie is holding her hand over her whiskers … it’s a classic “I’m thinking” gesture but it also keeps Lupin from reading her whiskers.
