Brothers and sisters are supposed to be horribly mean to each other.

I’d suggest teaching the brat some manners, respect and boundaries but that might cause some posters to have an attack of the vapors

Fatherly instinct. Luann is merely a sister, great, but aggravating. The desire to be parenting is strong in this one. Toni painting bedroom. Hmmm.

Brad is like a stereotypical grandparent: Spoil the heck out of the child, because raising her properly isn’t your problem. Let her do whatever she wants. Trying to stop her is too much trouble. Besides, you’re tired from having to worry about TJ burning down the house all the time.

Isn’t Shannon supposed to be 6 or 7 now? Today she was acting 4 or 5. Some serious training didn’t happen.

There are three explanations for Brad more tolerant behavior. 1. – He only has Chaos for a few hours making it easier to put with her shenanigans.2. – Brad has grown up and learned to be more tolerant of Chaos.3. – Chaos is his hot wife’s niece and if he isn’t nice to her Toni won;t be nice to him.

Good news: Brad makes a comparative between Luann and Shannon – and Shannon comes out on top!

Bad news: I guess we’re in for a week of Shannon the terror (removing her recent character growth).

Progress has been made. Brad says, “’Cuz you were a pain.” instead of “’Cuz you are a pain.”

How old is Shannon? She acts as though she was two or three.

From whom did Shannon learn such table manners? Her father I’d wager.

So, Brad, how’s married life treating you so far? Was it worth it? You don’t look very happy these days.

Well, some of us were debating on Shannon’s age. This becomes official – Shannon is NOT 7 years old. She is around 4-5. Some say by size, she looks to be 7. Well, I say Greg drew her too big to fit how she behaves and her skill level which put her at 4-5 years old.

Disturbing. The child is not a toddler – there’s something wrong with her development and she needs therapy quickly.

I think people that are mean to everybody are much more nicer and ethical than those who are mean to only selective people, at least they treat everybody equally

Shannon is a total glutton.

My brother said the same thing to me when I asked why he’s such a great uncle to my son but was such a jerk to me when we were kids.

They really need to start teaching Shannon some manners. She’s old enough to behave better than this at the table.

Shannon seems to be the female incarnation of Dennis the Menace!

Brad and Luann have grown up. Luann is supportive og her brother (and, is probably at least a little in awe of her sister in law.) Brad remembers what he did to Luann, determined not to do it to Shannon. And, of course has his sister’s back.

Brad has grown up rather nicely, hasn’t he.

I know it’s just a comic, but Shannon is not cute at all, a very inconsiderate brat. She will probably grow up to be one of the “mean girls” in school.

Seeing how patient Brad is with Shannon and how he’s able to take care of her is so relaxing ♡. Luann seems to enjoying the show. She’s so proud of her brother and his paternal instinct ♡.

Brad is growing up and Shannon is benefiting from this. He will be the most important person in her life.

I don’t like Shannon at all. She’s an obnoxious spoiled brat. The least they could do is demand she acquire some table manners. They aren’t doing her any favors by enabling bad behavior.

Don’t be mean to your sister. I lost mine when she was three. It’s been almost six decades and I still wonder what she had been like had she grown up. Cherish what you have.

I’ve never figured out who’s bratty kid that is. And why doesn’t anyone discipline her?

Move on!

Since everyone else in the strip has aged, Shannon should too and shouldn’t be talking baby-talk anymore or at least a lot less.

Make the brat clean up her mess.

That is a very good question, Luann! Parental interventions are few and far between where Shannon is concerned.

Brad seems really depressed lately. You suppose GnK are signaling something?

That’s what you get when you don’t discipline children. A cartoon shouldn’t make you want to puke.

I’m all for a child being creative, but they need guidance and direction. They also need limits. I see none with Shannon.

No point in wiping her hands until she’s DONE eating . . . and then you make her clean up her place, Brad. She’s big enough to help with that.

Still not liking Shannon. Based on the way she is drawn and her size in the chair at the table, I would say she is 7 or 8 at least. If they want to show her acting like a baby they should draw her as a baby. And no one likes watching a glutton eat. She already looks fat.

That child needs some rules and boundaries, ASAP!

I made the statement awhile ago that I believed they extended out the Tiffany/Ann Awful arc because they didn’t know what to do afterwards. The last few weeks seem to have proven that correct. If we are going to go the direction we are currently going, why not also do a deep dive into whatever dark, presumably mafia fueled world that Mr. Gray is involved in.

Because you’re not related to the woman he wants to do it with!

In a few years, they should send her to military school.

We didn’t meet Luann until she was 13. She was probably a worse child than Shannon when she was young!

I always say..either your parents train you to be civilized with love or society trains you with a lot harsher methods.

No. Shannon does not have a developmental problem. Shannon has a parental problem. Ultimately the blame is on her flake of a father that never grew up himself and drops Shannon off on his sister and her husband so he can go … what play in a band? Shannon needs a caregiver that is consistent. And while Toni and Brad might be consistent with her, since she is not with them 24/7 she regresses back to how she acts with her father. Personally, I like her character and I wish Jonah would have a horrible accident and Toni ask Bwad about adopting her.

I hate this story line. She is such a yucky little kid!

Brad was a Child when He and Luann were growing up. Now he is a mature adult. Shannon probably behaves worse at this age than Luann did.

Wait… just how old is Shannon supposed to be these days? Because various people have been wiping her hands/arms clean for literally years now. You’d think she would be capable of doing that for herself by now.

Shannon would not last five minutes with my mother. Mama loved us dearly (and still does), but all three of her children learned how to behave, both at home and in public. Shannon’s behavior would not have been tolerated.

A child that age should be taught better manners. But this is just a comic strip so anything goes and who really cares?

Shannon just doesn’t have any table manners. i wonder if this is the way Jonah eats. maybe tomorrow bernice will walk out and make a comment. Shannon’s eating style is fundamentally gross, to say the least.

Shannon is the ultimate brat. Brad has tons of patience.

Shannon first appears eons ago as a child Luann would babysit. As such she was intended to be The Worst Child Ever. Now she has been retconned to be Toni’s niece. She still continues to be The Worst Child Ever but Greg has begun drawing her as a 6-8 year old while the scripts clearly treat her as a 3-4 year old. Shannon was funnier when she was battling 13 year old Luann. Against mid-20’s Brad and Toni she’s just obnoxious and disrespectful of her Aunt and Uncle. Greg needs to regress her appearance to that of a 4 year old or stop using her. I’d be happier with a week of Puddles shenanigans than a week of Shannon.

So, here’s the thing, “Bwad…” You will, at some point, end up having Shannon full-time. It’s time to teach her some manners. She’s what? Eight years old or so? Come on! My five year old knew better than that! Letting her get away with acting like a brat isn’t doing her, or you, or society, any favors.

Bad move brad. Shannon is ingesting a LOT of sugar and is going to be an unstoppable force. In shannon’s head is patrick stewart going “warp one, engage.” lol

Shannon may be getting older, but she is not maturing. If anything, her behavior is deteriorating. What an awful brat . No wonder Brad seems to have given up on anything beyond “maintenance” for her. Wonder what she broke….

Big brothers are tough on their siblings but we (or I) become big teddy bears when it comes to being a dad (or father figure). LOL
