In my neck of the woods, we call this type of person a fool.

The glass is half full . . . of bird poop.

I try to temper my optimism with regular doses of reality. After (ahem) years of practicing, I’ve gotten to the point where I’m not TOO bad at it…

A pessimist says the glass is half empty.

An optometrist says “is the glass more full like this? Or like this?”

(Yes, I know I’ve used it here before, but it’s a multipurpose quip.)

Hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

So we are back to the beginning of the circle … Croc Power !

An Optimist says ‘Tommorow is another day’. A Pessimist says ‘Tommorow is another day’.

Rat goes to the local bar, asks for some wine.

The folks around him begin whining how the pandemic has challenged their lives.

It’s not often I can agree with Rat. I’m an optimist by nature too, but there is very little to be optimistic about on a large scale. At least my own personal life still has hope.

At least Rat gave it a pop.

What’s REALLY irritating is. . .this is the entire history of the world since the dawn of time. ..humans, as a species, never seem to learn from their mistakes. . .it’s ALWAYS “here we go again.”

This is harsh, but im constantly amazed by how stupid people can be, whats going through their brain? Nothing apprently. But then I guess im one of them, stupid.

I’ve always said I’m a realist

I’m optimistic this strip will be humorous again.

We need the word disapoptimist.

An optimist is what I spray on my eyeglass lenses to clean them.

Maybe I am like Rat then. Except I don’t everyone and everything like he does.

Generalities like “optimism” and “pessimism” have very little to do with the complexities of the real world for most of us.

Rat is a facile debater, Goat. You will not win a war of words with him….

Hey, a pessimist is never disappointed.

Maybe the right term is “disappointist”.

Expecting the World to disappoint you does not make you a pessimist. It makes you a realist. And, eventually, a nihilist.

Expect great things & good stuff will be disappointing. Expect the worst & survival is cool, di’n’t end up in jail this time neither.

My husband loves to tease me about this. His says that my motto is “It will be different this time” He said he will even put it on my tombstone….LOL

Judging bty the floor under the urinal at work, I would have to conclude that most men are optimists.

The problem, at least in America, is that common wisdom condemns those who are labeled pessimists.

Optimists are a dying breed…

I guess that makes me a hopetimistic. I have a hope that things might improve. Or at least not get worse.
