Sheesh, can’t Shannon’s aunt and uncle have time for themselves?

I kind of like today’s strip. Brings back memories when life was young and trying to cuddle with my sweetie and reality never quite cooperated. And Shannon is asking a not unreasonable question while holding what appears to be a contraband ice cream bar.

They are getting old and are not quite as flexible as they used to be.

Now THIS it what I love from Luann! It’s sweet, it’s funny, and there’s some good dialogue.

By Shannon’s comment, I am wondering if she has seen something at one of the parties her dad took her to that she was not supposed to see…

I see the problem. The clothes that they are wearing are taking up too much room and restricting free movement.

Of course, with Shannon standing in close proximity, it is just as well.

If your kids had been around before they were around, they’d never be around.

Back in the day, I would endure any pain to cuddle with a hot young lady and make sure she was comfortable.

Too cute, and I think that Brad might have tried to bribe Shannon to maybe take a nap with that ice cream bar, but the little bundle of energy and curiosity couldn’t contain it. I like the irony that even young children can have some idea of adult naughtiness.

I think we will have to accept that the only times we are going to see Brad and/or Toni is with Shannon. This is unfortunate because they still have an interesting life / career.

A couple years ago I was sent for Hazmat course given by the Fire Dept. Aside from the fact that I was within a year of retiring, was extremely near-sighted (can’t wear glasses in common breathing masks) and claustrophobic I was ordered to go. This is near here nor there but I am still so pissed off about it that I must vent. One day during a break I noticed that all the other firemen working at the training center were huddled around in small groups, talking quietly and looking extreme disturbed. When class resumed the instructor opened by saying that a fireman had been injured that day and was in the hospital getting treatment. Basically every fireman in the entire department was affected, deeply concerned and almost unable to work. That right there would make a great story for Brad and Toni. Starting with Toni seeing Brad off for his shift then learning that he had been injured. Her panic and tears followed by how the department pulled together to help Toni, keep watch on Brad and so on. And ends with Brads discharge with a broken arm or something.

One of the things I learned during the course was that hazmat suits some with a motion sense that triggers an alarm with the fireman stops moving for 15 or 30 seconds. That could be used in the strip with one fireman yelling “Brad!” through heavy smoke only to be answered with the alarm going on. Luann used to have some genuinely scary stories — Bernice stopping breathing, Tifffany drowing and pulling Luann down with her. Brad in trouble during a fire would no be any different.

Shannon; if you weren’t around, your Aunt, and, Uncle, might have gotten around to doing that "something you’re not supposed to know about, especially since “Uncle” TJ isn’t around." Unfortunately, since you are there, the answer is no. They’re just trying to get comfortable lying on the couch together

Pretty sure a kid like Shannon has seen far worse.

Where is Shannon’s bio mother again? Maybe Jonah should get married to someone and then dump Shannon on her while he’s chasing his rock n roll dreams.

Either that or sign away his parental rights so Shannon can have true stability.

This is sweet and funny at the same time ♡ And Shannon is eating too many icecream.

WHERE is her father? And her mother, for that matter.

Always snuggle in the bed. It’s got more room.

Little wonder Toni has no interest in having kids of her own.

I though the first two panels were funny by themselves. Brought back memories of days long past! ;-)

However, when you do find that right position, BINGO…..

That’s my wife and I except for two little dogs who think they should be in the middle of everything.

A decently long arc dealing with Brad and Toni and their life as a young married couple would seem to be of interest.

Especially in the milieu of Luanniverse. It’s potentially a rich field: love, sex, jobs, baby, roommate, precocious niece, brother-in law, sister-in-law, grandparental pressure…. After all, they’re not afraid of stepping away from the eponymous character in the strip for a little drama.

But I don’t get the impression Greg and/or Karen have the “feel” for such an arc.

Didn’t have a problem at that age with my wife. Sound like me now. ha ha.

Actually, I like this installment.

I have only one suggestion, and that is that Shannon should not have been depicted with a scowl on her face.

To me, that was the only flaw in the entire panel.

This is why the Mrs wanted, and got, a deep couch/sofa/davenport.

Shannon is quite the little chow hound. I guess no one taught her to eat with her mouth shut.

I went out with a woman who was deliberately awkward; I got the hint.

Looks like Shannon has become a permanent fixture in the B&T househould. Along with the “humor” that Shannon is dominating their domestic life.

does this brat even have a father anymore? seems like Toni lets her brother just dump her off whenever. and Brads observations about kids is that hed better just shutup and leave Toni alone about it. Brads reasons are that kids are little nightmares with hearts of gold and i just cant help myself in wanting one. thats why so many kids are brought into this world just because you like the word dad not the responsibility that goes with it.

They obviously need a New Couch.

That one just isn’t Cuddle Friendly.

Luckily, Shannon just stopped an unintended pregnancy.

Shannon is a pest. Either Brad and Toni become her legal guardians or let’s see less of her around Toni and Brad.

Shannon is so annoying! Toni needs to get a backbone and stop babysitting Shannon!

This comic strip would be so much better without the Shannon character.

Smart girl, Shannon. She knows something weird and possibly inappropriate is going on. If she watches TV, she probably interrupted before they remove their clothes which she doesn’t want to see.
