Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your

Remember the story of the guy who went to parachute school. When finished with the schooling,he was scheduled for his first jump and the instructor gave him final instructions. Fasten your parachute, attach cord to door frame , jump, pull rip cord, if that doesnât work pull emergency cord. A pickup will be waiting for you when you land. So he went thru the whole process and when the emergency cord didnât work either, he mumbled to himself, â I BET THE PICKUP WONâT BE THERE EITHERâ.
As a draftee back in 1970 myself and about 100 other draftees were herded into a large room and offered such a deal. Sign up for airborn and you could wear these wonderfully shiny boots and jump out of airplanes. Someone near me quietly said âOnly things falling out of the sky are bird shit and idiots.â I thought that was a brilliant comment. I spent my army years with my feet on the ground where they were meant to be.
Just finished listening to the The Fatal Flying Affair by T. E. Kinsey. The story centered around the early days of flying and parachute development. Not something Iâd want to try. . .
Soon heâll be thinking, Remember when Clyde used to meet me at the park? We would sit and he would listen to me talk for hours. I wonder why he never stops by anymore.
Never sky dived, no access to the sport where I grew up. Never crossed my mind to do it. If senior Bush could sky dive, and 100 year olds, why canât I? They were attached to the instructor and the instructor wanted to get down in one piece. Good insurance policy. Instructor wants down alive therefore I will get down alive and in one piece.
I wanted to do a tandem sky dive for my 80th birthday 2 yrs ago & it was upsetting to my husband, Iâm his caregiver & he probably didnât want me dead or injured because if so heâd end up in assisted living.
Skydiving is on my bucket list â however, I want to have all my paperwork in order first â will, trust fund for my daughter, power of attorney, etc. I already have a medical directive. :o) I figure the better prepared I am, the less Loki will be interested in screwing me over.
A few years ago my nephew had a 2-year assignment as Commander of the Army Golden Knightsâskydiving team. We went to a couple of shows and I told him Iâd be willing to have a go at itâŠbut we never got around to doing it. Darn. Earl has reawakened that desire, but Matt isnât connected with the Golden Knights anymoreâŠso I think Iâll go mix up some pudding, instead.
See that. Everyone is looking for Roscoe⊠I guess that was the test, see? One little word of âweapontryâ can destroy a city with a push of a button. Thank GOD we have the best elders who can catch a DRIFT. No airplanes. Thank you Pappy. Felt a little âspookedâ with a Christmas present wrapped up somewhere and only having ONE shoe in it. Laying out here no phone for the sake of what mission trip? Now i know my life is worth losing if need be. Thank you for VALUING Eagle Scouts. SMOOCH!!!
My first flight was as a passenger in a Beachcraft Bonanza when I was about 12. We chartered it to go up to Wisconsin and pick up my grandmother, and I got to take the round trip. My next flight was to San Antonio for AF Basic, then home for leave. Few more flights in AF cargo planes to SE Asia and back. More flights to Tech schools for the Phone Company. I enjoyed every one of those flights. Miss them since I retired.

I love pudding. My wife buys me the little Jello snack ones (chocolate) and makes me tapioca sometimes. Bread pudding, too.
