Well, to be fair, he really has no idea of volume control. He was very young when he lost his hearing, so when told to make the announcement, volume goes to nearly full.

This year has been tricky with Thanksgiving vs. Virus. Instead of being invited to niece’s place… I gave her a bunch of bakery items. One was a Rose Bundt Pan. Another was a Giant Gingerbread Man. Grand nephew seem to be thrilled with it. But…. I will have to admit… I am spooked they will bake something and send it over! A full Bundt cake will take me a month to eat! And the giant Gingerbread… maybe I could finish before Valentines!

The woman should make some marzipan for the boy to mold into whatever his creative mind fancies.

15 minutes? Can he finish the giraffe in that time? Will the woman be able to get the pie filled, covered, and baked so quickly? I think their efforts are doomed. Only the girl has a chance.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Thomios: Now for the technical challenge. Each baker will bake three batches of cats. One batch should be gingerbread, one sugar cookies, and the third is a dough of your choosing. Remember, you will be judged on taste, design, and creativity. You will have two hours to complete your cookies. Or biscuits, depending on which side of the pond you’re from!

Puckmosis: This is your Baking Cat News roving reporter. Sophititi, what are you doing for your special dough?

Sophititi: I’m making a spice dough from an ancient family recipe.

Puckmosis: Can’t wait to try them! Maat-Tilda, I see you’re going for a more abstract design.

Maat-Tilda: Yes, this is my special Krazy Kat design.

Puckmosis: Very innovative. Now a word with our judge Elvis-Anum. Elvis?

Elvis-Anum: I’m looking for that special something in a cookie. A simple decorated cat biscuit just won’t do. But I won’t be easily pleased.

Puckmosis: And there you have it, folks! Our best bakers trying to please a Siamese!

Bake free, as free as the flour blows

As free as the grape rolls

Bake free, be it cake or a tart

Roll free and dough’s all around you

Boy & Girl still astound you

Each time you look at those stars

Live free where no rules confine you

Bake free ’til bright sweater guy

Yells that you need to hurry

Bake free and life is worth living

    But only worth living

When you follow your own recipe

Ah memories, baking with my Gram. She would let little hands play with the dough scraps and even those creations that turned grey from being handled would be sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and baked.

Love to bake, thanks Mom and Nan(grandmother) for teaching me! The only problem is I want to eat it. Made apple dumplings yesterday, and share with my aunt. Next up Christmas cookies (sand tarts) can’t wait they are addictive!

The Girl is at a crucial moment. Will her paperclip structure hold up long enough for the judging or will it collapse at the last moment? The tension is almost unbearable.

I’m making educated guesses here but I’m assuming this would make more sense if I watched Reality TV, specifically programs on the Don’t You Have Anything Better To Do Than Watch Other People Prepare Food? Network.

    Today is:

National Absurdity Day: What makes today different from any other day? When viewed objectively, the human race is absurd.

Speaking of absurdity, on this day in 1985, Windows 1.0 was released into the wild …

Name Your PC Day: Windon’t machines are typically named some variation of “!$#&*%$#!!!” Linux machines are named after fish (think penguin). Chromebooks are all named “Megalomaniac.” Macs used to have user friendly names, but are now more often called some variation on “!$#&*%$#!!!” or “Big Brother.”

Beautiful Day: Beauty is in the mind of the beholder, but so many fail to see even a small portion of the beauty that surrounds us. I’m not just talking about the obvious things that almost everybody agrees are beautiful—those are easy, and fine of themselves. But you have truly developed an eye for beauty when you can see it in a dirty, grimy, old, rusted diesel locomotive, for example.

National Peanut Butter Fudge Day: Aw fudge! I wanted chocolate. But then, I always want chocolate. One hundred grams (about the mass of two standard paper clips) may contain over 450 calories. So for those on a diet, the Girl’s paper clip confection may be recommended … also has plenty of iron …
