I watched the 1968 Thomas Crown Affair on TCM last night. There are about seven minutes of Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen playing an intense game of chess, which game becomes a mutual seduction, which leads to the most breathtaking… kisses. A couple of dozen. And the room spinning (and maybe your head too) till the two dissolve into rainbow rainbow rainbow….
But I think Wallace might have gotten bored and distracted during the chess game itself… which was actually a mating dance. Two game players, each with hidden agendas.
If you haven’t seen it, it’s worth the look-up on YouTube as Thomas Crown Affair Chess Game. The 6 minute 59 second one seems the most complete as a sort of short movie in itself.
Lessons learned for everybody, including the fish in the picture. Yes, people do those things. No, we won’t rewind. Most importantly though, PARENTS/GUARDIANS, when the movie has anything other than a G or PG rating, and even then, DO YOUR JOB AND EDIT, GO PAST, or JUST DON’T WATCH THAT TYPE OF MOVIE WITH YOUR CHILDREN. That being said and just for information sake only of course, what movie were you watching?…..
Violence doesn’t even bat an eye with people in America. It has to be $#*. Even have to filter myself or censors will go nuts and want to beat me over the head with a baseball bat.
The Wife and I just started a series called Banshee on Cinemax, now that show will make you double check to see if the kids bedroom door is closed. I don’t see how he could get anything done as he’s always having sex. Also the first time I seen a bad guy driving a Lexus in a car chase.
I vote for it being “Conan the Barbarian” with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Dad vaguely remembers it being a cool action movie, and forgot about that one scene.
My dad says he didn’t remember that old shows with those scenes because he watched them on tv and they cut them out. Or he just has a bad memory. Guess which one I go with ;{)
Maybe it was ‘The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie’. My parents took me to see it and I was a bit bored until ONE scene in it made me sit up straight and get interested. That is about all I remember of that movie and I don’t think my parents had seen it. Not sure if they had movie ratings back then.(It was a short life-study art scene).

Intense graphic violence or did Wallace just get an anatomy lesson? We will never know. But that second panel is priceless!
