Prime spots on the bed have fluffy blankets. The corners are favored. But the one closest to the door is the absolute best. My senior cat, Spider, (17yo) likes the spot… because she gets a bit of a pet when I go bye. But tonight… the other old lady, Luna, (15yo) had the spot first. Spider leapt up and glared at Luna. Not moving. Spider (who has no teeth from age) tried to bite her to move. Not moving. Spider then tried batting. Not moving. In a huff… Spider came to me. I petted and cuddled her in sympathy. Then… Luna needed to use the litter box. ZOOM! Spider has been in the prime spot and is not planning on moving!
Since I printed what stuff is theirs with CAT on those items… I wonder if it is my fault! I should never have taught them how to read! (Grin!)
Lupin had better be careful….Elvis and Puck still haven’t figured it out, but eventually Elvis will come to understand with Puck in FRONT of him he couldn’t have bopped his behind. Then watch how noses outclass invisibility every time.
Thank you all for the kind words. The Doctor called last night and gave us an update. Dad is battling. His blood pressure came up a little so they were going to try to dialyze him. They also got some food into him. His lungs are a little wet from the fluids his body can’t expel but there isn’t any pneumonia. The next 24 hours are critical.
“Lower” is usually submissive, but it can also be the precursor to a spring. My female cat confuses the neighbor’s male cat by going low to the ground in a submissive posture before bopping him in the chin.
Those low growling noises are Phase One, Verbal Abuse in Cat Fu, the ancient martial art of cats. I had one cat who was so good at Phase One, he never, ever had to fight.
One of our cat’s used to do whale impressions when she was ticked. “MMMMMMMgrrrrrrrrrr. Mmmmmmmmmgrrrrrrrrrr.” I’ve never heard that particular sound from any other cat.
And then one of them flinches, or blinks, or whatever the trigger is, and KABOOM. The slow chase instantly erupts into a high speed hissing yowling pursuit. Up and down stairs, over furniture, innocent bystander cats, toys and humans.
When the dust settles, all is normal and quiet. 2 cats washing and ignoring each other. It did not happen and we shall never speak of it.
And the slowest CHASE is: the PAW patrol cop figure who lost in the Drake relays, since Salmon Chase wasn’t very slow. My Quebec ecole assignment for today was to investigate the cat skills.
HAHAHAHAHHHAHA! I have three girls (2 torties and a Siamese I am POSITIVE is related to Elvis) and you have NAILED the slow chase, and the “I hate you but I’m just a little afraid of you” gargling noises. LOL!
Then comes the stage where they lie facing each other with their tails able to reach the other, and they slam those down a few times. After that, they tend to forget what the fight was about, so one of them will sit up and hold a paw in the air for a looong time in the strike position, culminating with a teeeny tap.
Watch out guys. The nap attack may just be waiting around the corner.
As for trying to pick a favorite, I vote for all strips from the very first one until the very last one. Sometime in the far, far distant future. Or better yet, never end.
