If he doesn’t drink it, maybe it will melt a hole in the ice.

Nothing like a nice iced coffee drinker.

Hot drink in cold weather is a pretty alluring lure all right.

Put “Starbucks” on the cup… and the Bear’s Larder will be as full as their bellies!

I wanna see the solar powered Wileybear coffee maker.

Looks like he has the bait and they have the switch.

Anglers – monsters.

If he runs south and bears to the left then in a few minutes he could get his bearings straight and barely escape!

With the thin ice this year, that cup of hot joe might just be enough to put our ice fisher under.

The ice melts, the cup drops….

They should have used a fish…

What, no scones? That’s okay, I guess, because bear claws will be served shortly.

Usually nature calls after the coffee.

With some of the human species, a bottle of Jagermeister has been proven effective.

It took the bears some time to find a mug with a hook, but between Etsy™ and eBay™ you can find anything for sale.

Except for a recent coloring cartoon, this is the first plot-line featured Wiley bear cartoon in many months. And I am so GRATEFUL!

Bears only attack people when they feel threatened.

YAY!!! WILEY BEARS!!! YAY!!!!!

Most ice fishermen where I live have a hut and booze… if they actually manage to get a fish, it’s a bonus.

Wiley has taken liberties with reality here (quite apart from the bears): (1) too close to shore (2) ice too thin to support a human (3) no shelter, which tends to become hard to ignore when it’s 20 below and the wind is blowing across ice.

And then one must ask how the bears managed to get the coffee so close to the fisherman.

Better take up that slack. Ice fishermen are quick.

Shouldn’t the bears be hibernating?

Pretty sure somewhere under the ice a big fish is sticking his bait-y looking tongue out at a smaller fish. Sometimes the Circle of life is pretty straight forward.

Wiley Bears (Ursa Sardonicus) the peculiar subspecies of ursine that have near human intelligence. Very sneaky. Been with humans since humans appeared a half a million years ago.

CORRECTION: I would love, for the next two weeks, to have Wiley Miller rerun the unredacted February 10, 2019 Renaissance Bears comic. After yesterday, I think papers would pay him extra for it!
