In the Outback we didnāt use any sort of filter. We had a metal pot with a wire handle, filled with water and brought to boil over the fire. We used a rope with a steel hook on one end to lift the pot out of the fire by its handle. The ābaristaā dumped in a measured amount (āhandfulsā) of coffee grounds, then swung the coffee pot on the rope like a lasso for a minute, or until the arm gave out. The coffee grounds were tightly packed into a mat at the bottom of a pot of very tasty coffee.
There have been times when my feet were so cold, I had a hard time deciding between drinking hot coffee or pouring it in my boots. Naturally, drinking won. Sugar makes socks sticky. ICK!!
I just learned that the āsinusā headaches Iāve been having are actually migraines and after some research I also learned that I need to quit drinking coffee :ā( I only have on in the morning. Thatās it! But thatās enough/too much. :/
Frazz19 hrs Ā· Donāt feel like itās just you; Iām a coffee geek and I had the same reaction when I first heard about Sock Coffee, even though it was described as āSock Coffeeā and not āUsed Sock Coffee.ā And you can predict, successfully, that itās really just another way of making pour-over coffee, the hippest of the hip methods these days. Which is not a lot different from how the unhippest of the unhip Mr. Coffee machine makes coffee.
Iām good with all sorts of kinds of coffee, although if you ask me, if you want the best coffee youāll employ pressure (a la Aeropress), steam (a la Moka pot), or, best of all, steam and pressure (a la espresso). I hope that says something about my personality beyond liking coffee thatās intensely flavorful without being bitter. But that might be too easy an answer.
When my father was a Boy Scout (Later, Eagle Scout!) he was told to brew some coffee. Never having done so before, he tossed in the entire one-pound can. They ended up putting a couple spoonfuls in each cup and topping it off with hot water.
Side note: I found a sign and brought it to work: āInstant people. Just add coffee.ā

Some people do anything for warm feet. And coffee grind is a good peeling material.

If a sock has never been used on a foot, is it still a sock? If youy put tea in a coffee mug, does it become coffee ?

Pity none of these kids ever grow up ā one of the pleasures of growing older is getting to say āI told you soā to the younger generation.
