“If Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.” — Marcus Brigstocke
Back in the day Pac Man was my girlfriends favorite game, the only one she would play. When I asked her why she said "Where else can I get eaten 3 times for a quarter? :P
I remember a scene a lot like this from “Alien.” What a flick! Scared the bejabers out of me. And I wished I could’ve been in that escape pod with the ship’s cat and Sigourney Weaver in her panties. . .
Funny, only tokenly relevant story: At the time I got married, I worked at a music store. Willie Nelson released a much-awaited album, and the manager ordered about 200 copies. HOWEVER, someone at the record company screwed up and instead put LPs of PACMAN FEVER, a novelty record featuring (horrendously bad) songs about various video games, into the Nelson sleeves. The comments we got when these ere brought back for refunds were…colorful. About on the par with the HEAVY METAL soundtrack cassette mess, which was nearly as good. An even more bizarre factory slip-up.
My sister made a deal with her husband – every time he put a quarter in a Pac-Man machine, he had to give her a quarter. Bought herself a new wardrobe.

At first glance I thought the room in the lower left read “Powder Room” and wondered why it was so large.

Pretty sure that is a map of Illinois and the white dot is a working stiff and the “pac man” is the ‘tax man’.
