Maybe this? Holler House in Milwaukee is actually home to the nation’s oldest certified bowling lanes and has been owned by the same family since it opened in 1908.

Reminds me of an old joke. Milt Famey was an old time pitcher and a drunk. One time he was drinking brew during a game and couldn’t strike out any player. But he threw too erratic for them to hit the ball and would advance bases and they won heavily. That brand of ale from then on was known by the winning team AS THE BEER THAT MADE MILT FAMEY WALK US!

Milwaukee often claims to be a bowling capitol of the world, however Detroit and St Louis also lay claim to that fame, too.

The king was bowled over by the news the serfs had gone on strike. They’d split and were rioting in the alley. “Balls!” said the king, “I won’t spare them. I’ll pin their ears back and roll them back into the gutter from whence they came.”

I grew up in suburban Milwaukee mid-20th century and I REALLY get this. Everyone bowled. One of my classmates’ families owned an alley. We even watched “Bowling with the Champs” on TV. My brother keeps my Dad’s old bowling ball as a sentimental souvenir. The joke is good…if you’re from that very limited time and place.

When I google bowling capital of the world, the top link says it’s Michigan. However, a lower link from a Madison newspaper says that Milwaukee is no longer the capital of bowling because the USBC voted to move it’s HQ from Wisconsin to Arlington, Texas.

I think the idea may be that the carpet looks like a bowling lane. If the kingdom now reaches to Milwaukee, this may be a long lane and a bowling ball may come rolling in any minute now.
