Coming Soon š At the beginning of April, youāll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Reminds me of the time we were thinking of buying a sailing boat ā x amount for the boat, then XAMOUNT FOR THE SAIL , etc. COULDNāT BELIEVE IT! ā told it to shove it where the sun donāt shine!! Whatās the point of having a sailing boat without sails??
Itās like the call-to-action commercials for gadgets. Thereās this unwritten set of rules that includes the āif you act now, weāll DOUBLE the offer!ā bit. That used to mean the item priced at $19.99 wasnāt worth even half that money, so they send you two. But now, they still put that double-the-offer line in, but quickly add, ājust pay a separate feeā. How much is that fee?
Our new Fiestaware dish set means blue plate special every night. We got a mix of medium and dark blue (Cubs blue and Twins blue ā guess where weāve lived?).
The retirement home where my grandmother lived had the prettiest blue plates. They werenāt completely blue but they had some kind of design. I didnāt understand why a room with nice plates and such would be called āhospitalityā. I later learned that what I thought that should be was on the third floor. As in the military, they called that āsick bayā. Years later, I learned that before they built the nursing home on the same property, that was the section for people needing to be in a nursing home.

Looks like another place for Wiley Bears to visit. Good luck getting away with giving them empty plates.

Thatās now so bad. Now, when I was a kid we had to bring our own plate. And we had to walk 15 blocks in 3 inches of snow to get there.
