Even taking Charlie 21 down through the hotel lobby is an adventure. He seems to have a hide-and-seek hobby besides his reading hobby. The guy asking for the time reminds me of Lafayette, but it’s not him.

A chance meeting with Abner will wipe that smile clean off Charles’s mug. Of all the audacity; to seek protection and then go off script.

It would be something if Charlie does get hit leaving the DA a real challenge in getting a conviction while the real focus of this story will be Kadaver and Tracy.

It’s not often that you can surprise Dick Tracy! Btw, that elevator shot reminds me of the scene in High Anxiety.

Any idea why they are waiting so long to take a deposition? Usually a witness is being guarded before a trial (which may take months to set up). A deposition could have been taken 10 minutes after Charlie indicated a willingness to tell the truth…

Assuming Charlie is telling the truth…

Any chance our, “Gee whiz, you’re Dick Tracy! I’m so pleased to meet you!” has not turned on the Apparatus at all and this is some sort of overly elaborate plot?

Well for one who works for the apparatus, and is suppose to be an accountant, he’s a few fries short of a happy meal.

Time snailed by in the last story. It seems to be moving extremely fast in this one.

When Tracy and Sam do get their hands on Charlie 21….all his meals will be eaten indoors.

Gosh he’s a trouble-maker….what is it with Charlie 21? Is he playing catch me if you can?

So, let me get this straight – we’re supposed to believe that the great DC and his very experienced side kick let Charlie 21 out of their sight and hide when Tracy’s and Sam’s sole job was to play babysitter to this case witness? Great detective work Dick and Sam!

Went back an read today’s episode again. Now I see it was Sam who suggested lunch at Casey’s.

What is not seen, or at least not shown to us:It is dead certain that Tracy and his unit have been informed of Rikki Mortis’ escape, and the circumstances of it.Meaning they have good cause to think that Abner Kadaver is back in town.They surmise, high confidence, that The Apparatus will attempt to whack Charlie 21. If they can add 2+2 they can guess that Abner has been hired as one (of possibly more) whackers.

(At least they don’t have to worry about Sawtooth whacking Charlies 21.)

Oh great, he’s going to be one of THOSE witnesses. Better stop at Petsmart and get a leash, Tracy.

Oh, fine! Tracyville’s two top detectives get distracted for not more than a couple of seconds and Charlie 21 gives them the slip.

Tracy and Sam should hang their heads in shame! If they weren’t so central to the strip, I might even have said they should resign from the force. What an embarrassment!

Meanwhile, what does Charlie propose to do nex? He doesn’t have a lot of friends out there….

It’s not a good sign when storytellers have to rely on a character’s stupidity to build suspense.
