The very best way to fix fish is to grill ‘em. That’s true for a lot of things. Besides, it’s one of the few ways the “official cook by cultural necessity” gets a break because the “official griller by cultural necessity” MUST do the “grilling”. :)

There once was a woman who claimed regular special revelations from the Virgin Mary, one of which claimed that others would disbelieve them – which served to confirm their reality for the woman.

Back in WW2, the Government DID take away meat, or at least rationed it. And people sacrificed – meat and lots of other things – because there was a crisis. They didn’t throw tantrums and yell “Who is the Government to tell me what I can eat?”

Now, these “patriots” aren’t even willing to put up with minor discomfort to help their country.

They think they look tough, when all they’re doing is showing that they’re the ones who bail when there’s a crisis.

Forget his name, but a guy created a parody site years ago. Labeled it a parody site, and created the wildest idiotic headlines he could think of… People believed them and quoted it as fact (at least some idiots did). You wonder who sits around at the alt-right fake media and wonders, “What lie can we feed the gullible today?”

Oh, I’m not thinking of the Onion, although it was true of them. I think he was inspired by the Onion to try even more outrageous stories, stories anyone smarter than a goldfish would immediately spot as fake.

Was talking to a neighbor the other day, same guy who has been griping for months that the our governor has no right to mandate masks. Now that the statewide mandate has been allowed to expire he’s claiming he can go mask-less anywhere, because the governor says it’s OK. Seems he just wants everyone to tell him what he wants to hear, as opposed to being a responsible adult.

There is a difference between Govt recommendation and Govt law. We have the liberty take the recommendation or not. We also have the liberty to comply with the law, or not. Both have consequences. You decide which consequences we are willing to face.

Like many ridiculous rumors, there is a tiny element of fact involved. This fact has to do with water, specifically fresh water (not even fresh, unpolluted water). The severe, long-lasting drought conditions in many areas of the world, the growth of desertification, pollution, increases in population, etc. are increasing the demand for fresh water and, at the same time, the total amount of fresh water in the world is gradually being reduced (e.g., fresh water runs downhill and eventually becomes salt water; with 70% of the earth covered by oceans, more precipitation falls into the ocean than on land). So, scientists have been looking at ways to conserve this vital resource by looking at how we use fresh water. We use fresh water in a number of different ways — to drink, to clean, to grow crops, raise livestock, in recreation, and to make our yards and homes more attractive. So scientists have been studying how much fresh water is needed for various uses, such as how much water it takes to grow different crops. In California, a 2015 Pacific Institute report showed that the crops grown as feed for livestock, pasture maintenance, almonds and pistachios, and rice are the biggest agricultural water users. This doesn’t mean that we should stop raising livestock or growing nuts and rice, but it does suggest that we may need to find better methods for growing them and possibly different places to grow them (where they require less irrigation).

Someone should publish a book on what QAnon and their sycophants claim to be true. Tom Hanks eating babies, Jewish space lasers causing the California wildfires, Joe Biden and Donald Trump exchanging faces the day before inauguration day to hide the fact that Trump was still president, massive secret tunnels under New York’s Central Park being used to hide child sex slaves, JFK Jr. still being alive and working with Trump to take down the “Deep State”, that Hillary rigged the 2016 presidential election so that she would lose, etc. Current whinings from the same group of “banning red meat” are critisising Biden for playing golf and needing at least 5 hours of sleep each night.

Sheesh. At least there’s something you can do about high cholesterol. There’s not much you can do about low cholesterol. 150 is about the sweet spot with 200 being a cause for concern for heart disease. I can barely get mine up to 100 by eating eggs etc., which skyrockets my chance of strokes into the stratosphere. (I inherited it from both sides of the family.) In addition to strokes, low cholesterol inhibits vitamin D and sex hormone creation.
