Once again, as I said yesterday, lots of TrumpubliQans are still proud of what they did on that day.

All those Democrat 6s are simply a response to the GQP’s pathetic lies.

The one way you can be sure that RepubliQans are lying when they try to blame the attempted VIOLENT TREASONOUS COUP against the United States on PROgressives (or the mythical ANTIFA or whatever else) is that if they really believed that, THEY would be the ones clamoring for an investigation.

They tell us they want to “move forward” and not “back” at January 6, while THEY are obsessed with trying to peddle the BIG LIE about Trump “winning” an election HE LOST BY MORE THAN SEVEN MILLION VOTES, or Obama or Bill Clinton or, heck, they go all the way back to blaming everything on FDR. They want us to “get over January 6th” when January 6th was all about THEM not being able to “get over” November 3rd.

The biggest reason they don’t want to investigate what happened on January 6 is that it was a planned (THEY HAD SHIRTS MADE), premeditated ACT OF TREASON and many of their own House members were actively complicit in the planning, giving reconnaissance “tours” and who knows what else.

The same ones who cowered in terror and helped barricade the doors are now dismissing a violent attack as “ordinary tourists.”

The good news is that, while the Senate can block the formation of an INDEPENDENT BIPARTISAN COMMISSION, they cannot prevent the formation of House and Senate SELECT HEARINGS with full subpoena power, and TrumpubliQans can no longer hide behind a complicit Jeff Sessions / William Barr “justice” department that will look the other way when subpoenas are ignored.

Stantis, Jan 6 was just another great day for Washington D.C. tourism, right?

The Republican calendar is accurate, but the thing you don’t mention, is that if the Democrat calendar looks a bit like that, it’s because of the missing date on the Republican calendar!

    The insurrection must be investigated!

No one who works in the US government should be defending people who tried to overthrow it!

The trouble is, Republicans colluded with the rioters and they don’t want to face any consequences.

Coming to a GQP near you: “No collusion!”

The republicans used a tanker of whiteout to erase the years 2001-2009. Erasing one day will be easy for them.

Will Scott Sttantis leave “The Chicago Tribune” as his anchor paper now that it and the parent company’s other valuable associated assets have been bought by a hedge fund?

Years ago, when Rupert Murdoch bought “The Chicago Sun-Times,” (and overnight gave it a tacky tabloid format) several people, including the legendary Mike Royko, soon left in protest. Murdoch himself eventually shed that paper, leaving it much the poorer.

(Curious aside: After a period chafing under Murdoch’s policies, and constantly referring to him in his columns as “The Alien,” Mike Royko took his very popular column to The Chicago Tribune. Only a few years previous, it would have been laughably unthinkable for liberal Royko to work for that conservative paper!)

The news business in paper form is quickly dying. Having bought “the papers” since I was a teenager, I no longer find value in the emaciated “news letters” that are now sold, and only occasionally buy them, myself. So, I am in a small way partly to blame. But it has badly damaged my reading attention span to take news off the Internet — that’s my punishment.

No doubt, Stantis could continue his work through syndication, if not based at another paper. His continual “two sides to every issue no matter what” editorial cartoon contrarian philosophy irritates me (as in today’s cartoon), but his talent is undeniable.

I thought the Republicans’ calendar was stuck in November 2020, as they keep recounting Arizona’s ballots to try to prove that the Loser actually won.

And EVERY day on the Democrats side MUST unfutunately remain 6 until the Republicans put down the white out.

The problem with this is that Democrats are actually getting other things done. They are putting up a wide variety of legislation, but once again, the obstructionist GQP has decided to let nothing pass. Oh, and while it IS correct that the GQP wants to erase January 6 (because they are complicit in sedition), they certainly don’t want to let go of actual dead horses. I saw a GQP rally this week where they were ranting about…you guessed it… Benghazi!

So we have a hydra — Republicans cut off the head and 31 heads generate? What an Epiphany would do to the Republicans! (reference to a Christian feast on 6 January)

The Democrats are working on plenty of legislation aside from that for the January 6th commission. The “Jan 6” is ringing in the GQPers’ conscience, and that is why they see Jan 6 everywhere.

Can’t blame the Republicans for wanting to forget the 6th, major embarrassment. Nothing here folk, let’s move along. And.. the Democrats, like a responsible party would like to make sure this does not happen again.. One can bet the farm that if the situation was reversed the republicans would definitely be making it a big deal.. think Benghazi.

The insurrection was all over the news, and the pictures were clear. Denying that it happened, and being unwilling to punish offenders or identify the causes, only shows who is unfit to lead the country. Both are reminders of how fragile Democracy can be…

I agree that January 6th, 2021 should be ingrained in our memory the same as September 11, 2001 is. Terrorists acting against Americans, foreign or domestic should seek no honor from real American patriots.

If we don’t address what happened on the 6th, then it will happen again, and again, and again… until it actually succeeds in shredding our democracy. And there will be much whinging from the Republicans, “How did we get here?” By ignoring the 6th.

Three 6’s means evil. A whole lot of sixes must mean a whole lot of evil in that Political Party. On the other hand using the “white out” is meant to erase the hate and lies fromthe evil ones, including the media, as well as social nets. Amen!
