Coming Soon š At the beginning of April, youāll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Itās curious how they keep his face hidden until the last two frames, as if weād recognize him otherwise. Not even Tracy recognized him.
Itās very handy how Tracy just happened to be in the lobby. It saves Peanutbutter from just wandering into the MCU unannounced, like some people have lately.
Iām with Neil on this one. Why hide his identity from us when we had already guessed who he was, what was it, Thursday?
And Iām with Still Da Man on this one, two. An entire Sunday of no action at all ā except revealing the mystery guest ā whom we had already guessed daze agoā¦
One thing I noticed is the color of Barleyās shirt. Itās brown, not blue, as it is in the weeklies. Also, the critters on the shirt are green and pink. And since this is Sunday, these are the official colors and it means that the MC got them wrong again. SIGH!
And right in front of usā¦ Ms. Steffihawkā¦ who for a long time was seen in shadowā¦ or with face turned away from the readerā¦ or simply represented by a speech balloon emerging from a telephone or from off-panel.
And they all bring to mind the faceless and/or invisible denizens of Veraās comic strip.
Thereās even the shadowy figure in todayās Crimestopperās Textbook.
So, the āBig Revealā is someone that most of us have no idea who he is. (PEANUTBUTTER Dunh, dunh, duuh! Huh?)
Thatās fine, Iād rather the story be written with the expectation that weāre bright enough to know whatās going on. Besides, thereās going to be (hopefully) some kind of recap or explanation for us newbies.
CRIMESTOPPERS:When you come home and see a stranger in your house, make sure itās not your wife just back from the Beauty Shop before opening fireā¦unless of course divorce is against your religion
1-HOMELY BARKEY: Hey! Can you hear better than you can apparently see? STEFFI CHICKENHAWK: Hold onā¦I havenāt sited you inā¦there ā right in the head if you make one wrong moveā¦
2-DT: Stand down, Chickenhawk. Iāll handle this. STEFFI:Sigh. What a manā¦
3-HOMELY: LOOK OUT! HERE COMES A RIGHT CROSS! Ever since the fumes of the floor cleaner I had to use here at the precinct house stroked me out, Iāve had no control over my right arm!
4-DT: Hey! I remember you. We took advantage of your sad situation in order to keep this dump clean on the cheap. Youāreā¦I forget. Remind me.
5-HOMELY: Iām Homely! DT: I CAN SEE THAT but whatās your name?
DT: Itās actually Homer but you always called me Homely. Remember?
DT: OH YEAH! GOOD STUFF. I also liked āLOSERā but Homely fit with your real name. So whadaya want, Homely? You ready to man a mop again now that youāre kind of recovered? Well, tough! We already got a new down-on-his-luck kid for that. His real name is Stewart but I got everybody calling him Stupid. Problem is, when I holler out āHEY STUPID! CāMERE!ā, Sam always answersā¦
GOOD MORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNING, TRACYVILLE!!!!!
This is your super-coolest, swingināest, ever-so-with-it deejay, the man with a plan, the Guru of BMBG Greatness, JPuzzle the Whiz, here, bringinā you hipsters all the ginchiest hits that ever were put on a wax disc! And, in honor of our special guest star in todayās DT offering, we have this classic for you all to groove on!
Now once again we have the two most annoying characters; Alldid, & PB, in the Gould era together in this mish-mash of a āstoryā. For those above who are not knowledgeable about this clown, check out the early 70s, as Gould was winding down and kind of losing his creativity. Oh and BTW, sure want to to thank Lt. Reimer for that ātipā on what to do if you see a stranger in your house. Iāll bet Neil liked it.
Wow, like Bribery, never thought Iād see the name Homer Barley in the comics again! Thanks Team Tracy! Seeing as Gould spent 1972-3 building this character up, would be good to see what this lecherous cop-hating imp has been up to for 50 years.
Did Ms. Steffihawk marry Mattie Square? Great glasses.
The Tac-Glasses. You can run over them with a semi and they will not break. Freeze them in a block of ice and the still hold their shape. But wait, thereās moreā¦
1. The pace of this story arc is fine, in my opinion. I am not bored at all.2. I have never seen āPeanutButterā before. Apparently he goes back quite a ways.
Always good to see Ms. Steffihawk, a real gatekeeper for Tracy! Iām sure sheād keep out the likes of that scruffy-looking Homer Barley, if Tracy hadnāt given him him a pass! Peanutbutter, how youāve grownā¦.
Pequod over 3 years ago
He heard she died
Heart broke. He cried
Moon Maid was his first crush.
Was just a kid
So flipped his lid
Strong feelings made him blush.
A cruel man
Had hatched a plan
A car bomb did explode.
Such arrogance
Intolerance
Broke the unwritten code.
Peanutbutter
Just another
Young boy who grew up fast.
So annoying
Often cloying
Are those times in the past?

Ye Gods! This story has slowed down like itās stuck in a river of peanut butter!
Those eyeglasses must weigh a ton!
Why does Tracy come across as that absent minded uncle whoās roaming the hallways?

The facelessness is tending toward meme-ishness.
Recently, there was Peggy.
Today itās Peanutbutter.

Does anyone else notice a resemblance between the grown-up Peanutbutter and Jim Carrey?

When I think about it after reading todayās comments, Peanut Butter was the forerunner of a nerdy kid.
IvanB.Cohen over 3 years ago
The nerdy kid grew up to become a geek. Somewhere along his journey he could have worked at Best Buy as a member of the Geek Squad.

What is going to solve this case? Homer Barley a.k.a. Peanut Butter can find Archivalās I.P. address. Technology will do him in.
