There it is! “Pocket computer!” She means calculator, which we were not allowed to use in school because “you won’t always have access to a calculator, you know!” In my high school using a calculator was treated as tantamount to counting on your fingers. Till the day she died, when my mother said “computer” she meant “pocket calculator.”
Love Charlie’s facial expression in panel four. We’ve all been there. His gallant attempts to explain school is for learning (at the traditional start of the school year), go unheard ;)
If Charles chooses to be called King Charles he will be Charles III but the present Charles could pick from any of his four given names.
Back in 1600s Charles I, was son of James I, and his son was Charles II, so the present Charles would be finally claiming the name as king after 500 years.
Also his son William, if he so chooses, he would be William V (William VI was king before Queen Victoria)
Richard III is on this UK Royal Family tree.
So far he is the latest Richard

A good place to start, but you can also go back farther or jump to the next generation by tapping on the top or bottom family names in blue.
Love that face in the first panel. If Peanuts ever got a spin-off, I’d want it to be about Sally facing the nightmares of school, from grade school to university.

The father of Richard the 50th was Howard the 17th. Sheesh, even I knew that.
“Where’s my pocket computer?” Hmm, in 1974 I suppose that would mean a calculator.

“Where’s my pocket computer?” asked back in 1974? That’s remarkably prescient.
