Nerds don’t need to be disguised, either, although if you gave us the opportunity to be Klingon Warbirds (and/or Batman), some of us would certainly take it. Embrace your original Trek fan status, Elvis!

Elvis’s remark about litter boxes not being Klingon war birds was a delightful remark, especially to me who remembers Star Trek when it came out in the 60’s.

O.T. hi Orbsters, I have an urgent request for help finding a place to live for my cousin, Floyd in the Tarpon Springs area of Florida. He’s a 62 yr old finish carpentry,, indoor construction worker, a smoker with 1 sweet cat. Studio, 1 or 2 bedroom, close to public transportation and under $1,000. if at all possible. Have been checking Craigslist and tons of friends are looking, but no luck yet. Thanks for any leads or suggestions you can offer.

I’m pretty sure that Batman wouldn’t be too happy about having to use a litter cabinet, either — even a morphing one — so my solidarity is with Elvis here.

Elvis, for shame. Birds of prey have been referenced Klingon and Romulan, but warbirds are Romulan only! I’m mainly putting this out because the idea of Elvis having to issue a retraction is hilarious.

“I don’t need a fancy cabinet …” I expected that to lead into another Rant of Oldsters: “When I was a kitten, we had only ONE litter box, and we had to climb ten flights of stairs to get to it, and we had to pass through a gauntlet of slobbering hounds, and grabby babies with sticky fingers, and the litter was good old-fashioned CLAY, none of this sparkle-y high-tech odor free fancy-schmancy sand, and it only cost a nickle for a 10 lb sack, and believe me when I say what we had was LUXURY compared to what cats used in the old days, and now you have robots — ROBOTS — cleaning your boxes!!”

So, I came home today to find Smudge had knocked over a planter and shredded the plants. She was sitting proudly in the wreckage. After I chewed her out and got out the vacuum, she disappeared.

There are numerous Ikea hacks for hiding litter boxes. I think my favourite is this one:

This one is pretty good too:
