The point of living is to put off death as long as possible.

To the GoComics readers in the US: HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Who would be a better person with whom to have this conversation? A priest, A rabbi, an imam, a lama, a guru… the list goes on.

So Calvin opens his mouth full of chewed turkey and stuffing at the Thanksgiving dinner table and says, “See? Food”. And a Very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving to All!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Load down and then join over-eaters anonymous. Personally, I’m not sure what’s so great about turkey. I’d prefer to grill brats on a summer evening.

    Game theory, Cavin.

A closed ended game is mostly defined by rules, boundaries and time limits and you keep score. The objective is to run up the score and run out the clock. He who dies with the most toys wins (or goes to heaven).

Life is an open ended game to be played for the sake of playing it and the objective is to keep playing it as long as you can. The only rule is not to hurt others and have fun.

I will do as I did when I was a child. I will keep playing until the street lights come on and it’s time to go home.

    Happy Thanksgiving y’all.

Hobbes seems well aligned with Thomas Hobbes here — Calvin however seems not to have yet settled on Calvinism.

Read the last chapter of Twains’ “The Mysterious Stranger.” Ultimately, there is no point in life. Humans just want to believe that there IS a point, mainly because humans are so narcissistic.
