My father makes an excellent tuna casserole. The only problem it doesn’t reheat worth a damn. If there’s any left it’s thrown out.

I’ve completely given up on tuna casserole. Spouse cannot tolerate the inexpensive brands of canned tuna because they have soy protein which is a serious problem for her… so we only buy the expensive tuna, either canned or fresh/frozen. Fresh tuna in a casserole would be a crime… and since we both like tuna salad, that’s how our canned tuna is used.

(If you cook fresh tuna more than “quite rare”, you are making a mistake!)

Mmmm…I should make a tuna casserole. It’s been a while. Though mine’s simple: KD, tuna and frozen peas.

If Opal has to guess the age of the tuna casserole, then it’s best not to attempt to eat it!

Tuna has mercury in it now they say, so if I eat it on a hot day will I get taller as a thermometer expands in the heat?!

If you don’t know how old something is in the fridge, throw it out, even if there isn’t any fur growing on it.

My husband will eat stuff that I would throw down the disposal. He has never gotten sick after eating old food, so he must have a cast-iron stomach.

I have many fond and not-so-fond memories of the ubiquitous tuna noodle casserole.

It was one of a very limited selection of dishes that my first wife did reasonably well. It was inexpensive and easy to prepare – potato chips crust on top and all! Because we were young and often between pay checks, it was our fall-back meal. In our first year together, I ate a lot of tuna noodle casseroles…
