Wait, isn’t that the same bed where Elvis was catatonic? Where is he now? Is he under there somewhere, guarding the coats, as is traditional for people parties? Is he changing into Mommy’s Special Boy?

Why do Sir Fig and Tabitha need coats to go from the third floor to the second? Is the dumb waiter that cold?

Tony, who I had for only two months, had to be euthanized about two hours ago.

He and my other cat, Rexy (who is still with me), were both still scared of me and Tony was very good at hiding and staying quiet. I had to vacuum in my closet and Tony shot past me. That was the last I heard or saw of him until tonight.

He had gotten behind and under the clothes washer. I’ve no idea how long he was under there. I heard a single cry and I tilted the washer to the floor and he was there, still alive and crying occasionally. I got him out from there and took him to the nearest emergency vet clinic. I was still filling out the top of the form when they came out and told me that he was in critical condition, treatment would be over $1,000. They could not guarantee recovery or no pain. So, I had him put to sleep.

When I get up, I’m getting shelving, a two-by-four, something to put over the space behind the washer and dryer. Once it’s safe, I may get another cat.

Rexy is doing fine, though I don’t know if he’s realized his friend is missing yet or not. I am sick with guilt that this happened.

The “I’ll put them on the bed comment” followed by the cat bed visual is great! Sometimes Georgia outdoes herself!

The ceiling cats are here! It looks like they are both wearing their wrestling outfits under the coats. Unless we are waiting on Burt, it might finally be time for BCW to begin!

I’m back. Machine is fixed. Furballs are happ.

Not sure why cats would need coats for a ride down in a dumbwaiter. It’s basically stepping into a closet. (I know, but wrestling matches in drag don’t bother me.

So I wonder if this is all the guest or if there will be more tomorrow. Based on yesterday’s strip it seems like Burt might not be coming, but I wonder about Baba Mouse or the Robber Mice?

Why does the bed get desginated as the coat holder at a party or family gathering?

I don’t mean this strip. It did make me remember going to Christmas Eve parties, a handful of Christmas dinners, a handfull of Easter dinners, Thanksgiving dinner, and a few other parties where it’s the bed that’s designated. And even when my parents hosted New Years Eve parties and a Christmas dinner it was the bed. Easter and Christmas dinner were usually at my Grandmother’s retirement community and she’d get the hall so everyone put coats up in the closet. But in most of the other instances there were closets that could be used, or a coat tree and they were ignored entirely for the bed.

The people only have themselves to blame. Last year they had a virtual watch party.

I went back and checked all the previous wrestling themed strips. Burt participated at least twice. Perhaps he didn’t realize that this party is going to be wrestling themed. I didn’t see Baba in attendance at any of them.

Mention of the “dumb waiter” reminds me of Sam the Cat Detective. ❤

Back when mom and dad used to have parties all the time, this was the landing spot for coats and purses in our house too.
