If this devolves into a week of them trying on odd clothes and costumes I will be happy. Bernice in a flapper dress (short hem, rows and rows of shimmery fringe) would be a hoot.

They’re swinging for the fence.

Now “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” will play over a montage of Bernice modeling over-the-top outfits for LuAnn to thumbs up/down, until they find the perfect outfit and rejoice.

This montage could easily be stretched out to fill the next 2 weeks. Hunker down.

Before they left the house I was thinking that their make-over party needed someone like Jack to drop by to give earthy comments.

Thrifting! Good for them, and lots of fun. When I was a kid I had a whole costume-box (or sometimes bag) filled with things picked up at thrift stores. The best find was an entire fancy outfit designed for a “little person”. Blue satin pillbox hat with net, blue velvet evening gown (it fit me almost perfectly at age 7 except for needing a couple of oranges in the front cups) and tiny blue satin high heeled shoes.

Thrifting is also better for the environment than recycling. Less processing necessary.

Floppy Hippy Hats.

Granny Dresses.

Which of those “re-threads” would Bernice choose?

I still say that Bernice would be better off heading over to the Gulag and getting Gunther to sew something for her.

At least it would be free.

And there’s always the chance there’ll be a fistfight when Bets shows up. ;-)

Yay – makeover time! Maybe Crystal will be there to give them a hand!

Who will show up to participate in this makeover. Too bad Pru is no longer in the picture. Tiffany has experience, but GnK are keeping her arcs at a distance. Stef’s at camp. Tara is a fashion dud. Toni’s out of the picture and Nancy would make her look like Luann. Gunther has a sense of style and is an award winner.

It is a puzzle.

I see a catastrophe coming…Nil dumps Bernice when he sees her with a different look. Bernice blames Luann. You can just say no, ya know, Bernice?

It appears that Greg forgot to draw breasts on Bernice. He is so used to drawing that shirt on Gunther…

Luann really wants to help Bernice a lot. She manages to get her to go to a store to find a new look, it’s not something you can see Bernice do on her own initiative. Luann is really a great friend♡. Hopefully this new look can help Bernice be more honest with herself and able to understand what she wants. Also, let’s hope Nill likes it.

I find it interesting how Bernice goes from wanting a romantic entanglement with Nil to being ultra-wise and philosophical about the boy wanting a platonic relationship.

I love it! A vintage clothing store. Can’t wait to see some cool fashions of the past.

That store reminds me of an episode of I LOVE LUCY: where Lucy and Ethel sell their husbands’ old clothes to a similar retailer—who, in turn, sold them right back to Ricky and Fred!!

They both could use a personality makeover. A group therapy thread for the lot of them would be wildly entertaining. “Hi, you’re arrogant, self-absorbed, inconsiderate awful people. See you next week.”

A Second Hand/Thrift Store, likely with vintage clothing. this could get interesting, especially with Bernice and her conservatism.

Bernice is going to get herself an extreme makeover. This’ll end badly.

Maybe it will be Luann who gets the makeover. She seems to be more into this than Bern.

My wife deals in vintage clothes, so I heartily approve.

I’ve never thought about what my muse looks like/how she dresses. I shall.

Looks like a week of experimenting with different looks and Luann drama. Wonder if they’ll run into Bets costume searching, or Tiffany donating Steff’s things, nah! Too soon for that. ;-)

Bernice is insufferable, tedious and boring. She thinks she is so special, but anyone can be a muse to someone.

Great, she’s going to do a makeover at the starvation army!

Modern Luann strips have relegated the titular character to a minor (or absent) foil to the supporting cast – Luann’s character development has gone from slow going to noting at all… I’m not the author or artist and the only financial contribution I make is logging into this website which shows me advertisements in the corner of the screen, but this strip has felt more like a worn out soap opera.

When was the last time a male character was the subject of an arc? Back in March Puddles got lost. Christmas last year Gunther proposed to Bets after a Bets tantrum sequence. November 2021 Brad, Toni and TJ have the “kids” talk.

Then I got tired of searching. Gunther used to have major arcs but you have to go back to his return from Peru. Even Les had his moment in his split with his mother, Ann Eiffel.

All I can say for now is a strike across the bow of my friends the trolls, and also non-believers; hilarity will ensue! What happens next remains to be seen. My Wednesday comment, wait for the arc to develop.

aaaaand they come up with a look for Bern that drives Nil and Jack crazy for her with Luann pouting over being ignored….Stay Tuned!

This whole story line is absurd. Maybe I’ll check back next Monday to see if anything worth reading is going on.

People will know. Everyone will know, cause Bernice will tell them. She’ll tell them about how being a muse makes her elite, special, and unique, and add that to her list of reasons of why she’s so superior to everyone else.

We are not a-mused.

Oh, so now Bernice is some sort of expert on muses? Just when you think she’s hit her limit, she manages to outdo herself and become even more insufferable.

This arc is a “Rethread”…girls who can never be allowed to grow up."

As opposed to the “MOUSE-Y” look Bernice currently sports!

This reminds me, I used to drive past a used clothing store called P.O.S.H. “Previously Owned SecondHand” … secondhand isn’t really two words but somehow leaving the H off doesn’t imply quality.

Most of all the Muse needs a new do. Long straight hair – maybe black. Maybe a purple velvet top, cut off jeans, red boots. Maybe Bern won’t like anything and Luann will find her own look.

We gonna have a “Design Bern’s new look” contest like we’ve seen in the strip before?

We used to have a huge thrift store here in Sacramento over on Fruitridge road near Hwy 99. It was called “Sac’s Thrift Avenue”.
