Elvis-Anum: Wally has created a beautiful Senet board. Now we have to figure out how our ancient ancestors played the game.
Violet-Ifa: There are scrolls in the (No Longer) Hidden Library that may shed some light on the subject. Check the scrolls in 794.
At the library
Beatrixia: There are a number of scrolls on gaming. Here are a few that mention Senet. Vi, can you translate?
Vi: There’s one here that says, “I, Omari, have brought Nommy Nom treats to the game. No one thought to bring Kat Koffee.”
And here’s another one, “When you roll a double six with your game piece on a blue square, do you get another turn?”
Elvis-Anum: Sounds like they didn’t know any more than we do how to play the game.
Vi: And here’s one more, “I would love to play the game, but don’t have a board.”
Bea: I see two projects here. Why don’t we make our own rules on how to play? And maybe we can ask Burt-Ra if his crew can make some more boards to lend out? We can start a gaming group right here in the library.
Elvis-Anum: The Great Pyramid library could become a whole community center.

Off Topic: Saphira’s schooling is done for the year, so I will be here more often (you lucky people, you). Also, I am halfway through the last module in my insurance course. I hope to finish it today or tomorrow, and write my licensing exam when I get back from the cabin next Thursday.
O.T. Checking Big Nate yesterday and today where the bored tweens hang out and plot trolling other comics, someone there is proposing a raid on BCN (That’s us). So if a troll shows up, remember to not respond. Red flag and then ignore them. Remember that any reaction to a troll feeds their warped sense of importance. I just thought I should warn everyone. Here incidentally is what one of them said, “Alright, so birchwood got the idea of raiding bcn, and so far only me, birchwood and hk-47 are going. If anyone else wants to go, help birchwood spam to get top comment while everyone else will roast the furries defending the strip.”
::sigh:: I was vicariously re-living a past adventure – where I finally got to “run my hands thru/over a piles of gold/and other coins and get in the piles of gold so I could walk over the coins” Good thing I had a really high Dex score and rolled high on the save – piles of loose stuff are slippery. :)
Well, those who called trap yesterday called it. Too bad there’s no dragon or troll or oger, or dead creature, or some other hideous guardian to deal with. At least YET.
Now Lupin cannot unequip the crinkle balls and suffers a -2 to all Dexterity based skill checks until someone casts ‘remove curse’ on the crinkle balls.
When I played DND I would always always check for curses or traps before I so much as touched any treasure that was just lying about like that. If you have a trap-happy DM, it can really save your bacon.

Yes, Elvis, the crinkle balls are indeed cursed! But why are you so upset when “ the Rogue “ is cursed? Or will this affect your game play?

They’re not cursed, they’re common.
They’re just addictive.

Quick Elvis, cast a spell or you might have to leave Lupin trapped in the room of treasures. No, that wasn’t meant to be a good thing.

My sister is right – Lupin and Horatio are way too much alike. The crinkle balls would have been my baby’s downfall, too.

Now you feel like it’s already Christmas, huh Lupin?
Bashing with eyes glow
On a gold cat treasure, yay!
All along he goes
Laughing all the way
Bells on toebeans ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to roll and sing
A slaying prey balls tonight
Crinkle balls, crinkle balls
Crinkle all along
Oh, what fun it is to filk out
Some toebean Christmas song, yeah!

CRINKLE!!!!!!

Crinkle, crinkle, little rogue,
When you plunder, balls unfold.
In a treat room you get high,
Like a dragon in the sky.
While the little rogue has fun,
Does not fear curses cast upon.
Rogue uses sweet cleric’s light,
To crinkle, crinkle, through the night.
Then the wizard in mood dark,
Frets about rogue’s happy lark,
But there’d be no toe bean show,
If balls did not crinkle so.
Rogue must roll a check to see,
If a curse made him dizzy.
May the wizard cast a spell
So rogue’s caper will end well.
Crinkle, crinkle, little balls.
How we wonder what’s up, y’all.
Irresistible to rogues,
With hidden effects untold.
