He could’ve made the glasses out of snow, but this is better.

The kid’s talent for artistic statement cannot be denied.

In this case, art imitates life.

This is typical of kids. When I was Calvin’s age, I’d take my parents stuff to wrap the, as Christmas presents and give them back to them since I didn’t have money to buy them actual gifts. I like Calvin’s idea better though.

Realize it’s January, and really love the snow comic, but wondered how Watterson got the inspiration for it.

I’m impressed he did all that in the time it took dad to find his book.

There might be no better thing in the history of comic strips that Cal’s snowmen. Even better than the Spiff or Stupendous Man strips.

Only in cartoons can a kid like Calvin have such a prowess for building incredible snowmen.

He went to get his book, but it’s not visible in any of these panels. Doesn’t mean anything, but if you’re going to call attention to it you should show it.

“Row faster slave!” oh wait, sorry, wrong story. Thinking of the boat scene in Ben-Hur.

LOL… you have to watch Calvin every minute.

I absolutely adore all of the snow people-related “C and H” strips; God, they make me giggle.

They are providing valuable assistance to the “message”.

Reminds me of a similar “C&H” …

Dad can’t find his glasses, until Calvin walks in wearing them and says, “Calvin, go do something you hate! Being miserable builds character!” Then Mom cracks up and Dad comments on the funny voice and the sarcastic kid they’re raising.

Funny stuff.
