Is it me, or is this Diana’s face much the same / As that of a princess with the same name? / Well, that’s not surprising. / There’s just no denying / The often high costs of beauty and fame.
To my loyal friends who have expressed concern for my well-being, and appreciation for my past labors- I read your comments with tears in my beady little eyes! I am FINE- and doing battle via email with the censors. I hope my Diana limerick gets posted. Such is my vanity that I’m actually rather proud of it. Peace and joy unto all in the new year- and to my mighty rival, Sol, I pass the torch!
“I paid that guy to run under the arrow with the target but I forgot we’re using paper targets today. Oh well, at least I’ll have one bullseye to my credit…”
With all the disgusting, INMHO, drivel available on social media, Ish, at his best was “naughty” but certainly not deserving of censorship. Those who flagged him must be in a minority and do not deserve to tell the rest of us what we can read or not read. REALLY!

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3059 (January 10, 2023) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment there (awaiting Mr. Melcher’s approval) pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 3 works by this artist have been used here. The February 12, 2021, strip has the prior. The artist URLs listed in my comment there are also in the blog comment.
Based on Seignac’s other paintings, he must have said “Well, if you won’t go topless, I need some reason for you standing in this area. I know! Here … hold this”.

Dianna, goddess, fulfill my wish,
Bring back the poet known as Ish,
He seems to be banned
From GoComics’ land,
for reasons most obscurish.

Nubile Diana, the goddess tomboy,
Would give mortal men much great joy
If at flirty Venus’s urgin’
She stopped being a virgin
And romantic pleasures would enjoy.
.
In hidden groves she bathes demurely
Where on occasion poor men do surely
Disturb her modest personal space
Not on purpose, or with Ill grace,
But yet are punished, in any case.

The Grecian goddess, Diana/
Whilst not often mentioned in Ghana/
Was loved by the Greeks/
For her rosy pink cheeks:
And her motto:
“Mens sano in corpore sana!”*
•”a sound mind in a sound body”- Latin – as well you know. I’m well aware of this violation of meter- but the line’s just too good to pass up !
