My first bachelor apartment had all sparse Goodwill furniture that came from the city library (sturdy and marked “1939”) except for the bed which I built to replace my sleeping bag. For the mattress I simply bought a foam pad and covered it with sheets.
A home that is your own is beautiful – regardless of the quality of the furniture or environment. Doing it yourself, within your budget, is freeing. My first apartment had milk crate book shelves and a fold out sofa bed I bought for $15 from Goodwill.
They should start a band and use that apartment for practice. Michael got a work helmet for Christmas, so he can be a construction worker. Brian can be an Indian. Gordon can be a sailor and Lawrence can be a leather-clad biker. Just need to find a name for their band.
It ain’t much, but it’s Gordons, which is more than can be said for some people around here I suspect. Detractors generally despise success of others that is greater than their own, even when it is just cartoon success.
I was going to say I hope Gordon bought beer and snacks for the guys to help him move in the couch. Since they’re underage soft drinks will have to do.

The stains won’t bother him but if they did he could always get a slip cover for it.

I know the grunt and strain routine. I just moved in a recliner sofa by myself.

Now there will be “guests” that will invite themselves to his apartment. Just like vacation homes that will have uninvited relatives “drop by”.

We don’t get to see how they got it through the doorway? Disappointment, be my blanket!

The looks a lot like my first apartment. Mine was a garage with a bathroom. They boarded up the big door and put in a deep sink. I loved it.

I think many of us had an old hand-me-down sofa as the first sofa we owned. Usually something that Mom & Dad, or Grandma, no longer wanted.

For a guy who could be miserable he chooses to look on the bright side. Very impressive for a ‘surly’ teen :))
