My old roommate would order a steak dinner with baked potato, pie a la mode and then a diet coke. One waitress repeated his order then exclaimed loudly “And a diet coke?”

I think they’re finding that artificial sweeteners’ bad effects result from mixing with real ones.

I’ve been drinking diet soda since HFCS took over. My GI does not like it and it’s way too sweet.

I haven’t had a soda of any sort in 25 or so years. Just lost the taste for them. I prefer iced tea, water or coffee.

Like someone who guzzled Diet Cokes all day to wash down his McDonalds, KFC, or extremely well done steak smothered in ketchup.

Diet soda’s are one of the worst untruths foisted upon the general public in decades. Some studies indicate they actually cause MORE weight gain than cane sugar.

Does taking a drink of water between the candy bar and my diet Mt. Dew disqualify me?

The stuff to make a soda “diet” is worse for a person than sugar.

I think most of us pluggers know the health scam from anything that says ‘diet’ on it.

Can’t eat candy for over a decade – both Diabetic.

We used to have Diet Coke with dinner. When Covid started and not going out and (most importantly) no sales on it we stopped. Husband decided to buy some again as on sale “with member card” at the supermarket we go to in normal times (during the past Covid years have been going to Walmart Neighborhood Market – only supermarket items instead. Regular supermarket had Diet Coke on sale – but now must download to card online to use instead of cutting a coupon – cannot get the ! coupon to download to the card so not buying same.

I used to work with a queer fellow who had a diet Mountain Dew in one-hand and a big slice of 7-layer cake in the other – for lunch! As expected, he was very obese!
