I like the Peanuts version better. Crashing the kite or it getting tangled is what happens. Instantly having a hobby store nearby isn’t.

I learned you that you can’t fly a kite if it doesn’t have a tail. Then I saw a box kite. I haven’t flown a kite since.

Remember going to the Jersey shore when I was young. “Box” kites were much more popular than Calvin’s.
