A comic strip character and a caricature joining together, this is really over the top.

Tracy falls into a dream while reading the Fosdick comic strip…now he has a newspaper again and comes across a story of someone wearing valuable jewels to a movie premiere. What is this? Art imitating art?

Every other day that idiot Trustworthy fires his gun aimlessly. WHY ?

The squirrel is looking at these 2, he thinks they are nuts!

I am enjoying the trip down memory lane with good ole’ Fearless. I remember his adventures with Lil’ Abner. I believe they have captured him very well. I am waiting for the bullet hole through the head that is only a ‘flesh wound’. I bet one has to be at least 50 to remember him.

Now I remember the character Fosdick from a long time ago , for sure , he always had " holes " in him and he never went down as I remember ?

I’m sure there are a few readers here older than I who remember more about Fosdick than I do; so what’s the history of his always firing off that old revolver of his? He’s never looking where he shoots and thus far we haven’t seen him reload. It’s almost as if this is, well, a comic strip or a dream or something! But really, what’s that storyline? How long before he hits some innocent bystander? Or squirrel? Or is he always shooting bad guys who jut happen to be just off camera? But most importantly, who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? It ain’t Fosdick!

Straightedge Trustworthy is that writhing decrepit mess Vera Alldid’s send-up of D.T…… Fearless (hisself!!) is Al Capp’s approach to the same lampooning….now: which “comic artist” would YOU rather be holed up on some uncharted desert isle with?…..

Once again, it’s day and night. The day in 2016 switched from yesterday’s orange-beige to a light sky blue. Today’s nighttime still feature a slightly cooler yellow hue on Tracy’s garb and muted skin tones.

Our squirrel has changed from a gray squirrel in 2016 to a red or douglas squirrel today.

Of note is the difference in the muzzle flash. In 2016, we had a white flash outlined in blue. Today we have a pale yellow flash with a gradient outside the lines. I like thinking outside the box with not sticking to the lines, but the blue outline from 2016 is a nice detail.

Last but not least, today’s colorist missed coloring the hole in FF’s head.

Love the first panel Fosdick shoots his gun out of habit?

I love the fact that Fosdick is just shooting his gun around at everything. That shows how insane the character is as a parody of Tracy.

I’d sooner trust the squirrel to handle it.

I like seeing the faux bow back on Tracy’s chapeau.

Tomorrow, in an effort to stretch out the storyline as long as possible; we’ll check in on Dogpatch where Stupifyin’ Jones hatches a plot to mud wrestle Daisy Mae Yokum so as to steal L’il Abner’s affections….

To catch a potential diamond thief, Fosdick and Tracy, the detection dream team! (Ahem!) Only their squirrel knows of their intent to infiltrate and protect the World Movie Premiere. They will prevail!
