Just a ditz

Most business meetings can be done from home, Or not at all — waste of time and energy. What is Tom doing, where ever he’s at that’s kept him away for over a year? Maybe he’s married a nice Korean girl and has started a new family,

Personally I think it;s time for G&K to wash that man right out of their hair.

But you’re our ditz! And we love you. 8^ )

So the mansion will be safe. Tiff can live there again and maybe invite Bet or someone else to come and keep her company. So what’s the problem?

Tiff you be very safe after they install security system. Tiff you are a ditz that we all love.

This would have been the perfect opportunity for Tiff to tell about the break-in of the Manse, her injury—AND shacking up with Les and Gunther in the Gulag while she healed!!

But no—for Mr. Moneybags, it’s always business before parental responsibility!!

Tom, Dez, and Tiffany. Three likable characters that are also interesting. They need a stronger story line.

Looks like Tiff is going to have to get used to being back at the mansion and making that work.

So will one of the Home Security workers be a handsome young guy Tiff will hit it off with?

Let’s hope Dez and Tiffany talk about this, Tiffany might listen to her advices. I also hope she will want to keep her company during the week at the mansion, if Tiffany still feels insecure about being there alone.

Installing expensive security, eh? That means cameras. Lots of cameras.

Cameras that Poppa can access from anywhere in the World and watch what’s going on outside and inside the manse anytime he wants, 24/7.

Therefore YOU will the one who’ll be “Kept an eye on,” Tiffany. So kiss your privacy goodbye.

Just wait until pop catches sight of Bets walking by in her bathrobe.

Or Kip or any other guy on his way to the bathroom at 3 A.M.

Unless you get some smart, enterprising young engineering student to come by and disable one or more of those cameras. ;-)

Tom didn’t learn anything from the time she rented out the mansion as a storage facility without telling him?

My beloved Tiffany needs to be there to protect the workers from the burglars.

It’s great in theory to expect the best of people so they will strive to live up to your opinion, but it can make them worried to admit it when something goes wrong.

How did his insurance company not contact him about the break-in? Since the police came and a report was filed, why does he not see his house on the same map that shows the other break-ins?

Tom is like Jonah: too concerned with career, not enough about his child.

Except for the Anne Effiel affair, Tom seems to be parenting over Skype, and, the like. SOmeone estimated yesterday that it’s been at least a year-our time, since he and Tiffany were even in the same house.

This strip is starting to remind me of a popular sitcom from the fifties, My Little Ditzy.

A little more grey and Tom would look like Verne, Margies dad.

Does anyone recall if there was anything stolen in the break in?

She’s a ditz because she didn’t get dad to consider, fall for, her plans to run away from the manse break-in, because of fear and shame, misplaced as to the shame part. She should be honest, but this whole misshaped father-daughter relationship (someone commented, accurately I think, that Tiff and Tom is like Jonah and Shannon, except for age and monetary difference) seems to foster miscommunication rather than encourage truth. What I’m curious about is whether, and to what extent, the gang will be over so Tiffany will feel safe with the security crew there. What could possibly go wrong?

Tiffany has to be at the house for a full week? She certainly has to work some of that time. She can’t be there every minute during the day. Dad needs to make other plans for installation.

Dishonesty by omission. Tiff should have played dumb “Oh I thought it was a bird strike that broke the window” But you gotta live with it.

The semester should be over and the dorm closed; so where are they staying now? Tom may have a 1% deductible on the house so the deductible may be $20K so filing a claim for the window would be foolish. However, he should have received a EOB from the health insurance company for the wrist. It all depends on is he having his mailed forwarded or if he has gone paperless and gets everything email.

Tom Farrell is just a corporate flunky. He’s being treated like a child in his workplace, and him being called to “heel” is certainly out of character for the “tycoon” image that the Evan’s have always tried to portray for him. I guess the only way to depict his “oh so demanding” job is to have a demanding co-worker ordering him around, LOL!

My next door neighbor in Wyoming was a Tom. His job took him all over the world. His wife raised their kids by herself. He only rarely made it home. While we were friends, he finished his years and was excited about finally getting to spend some quality time with his wife.He got about a year. Right around that time she contracted pancreatic cancer and died not long after. I cannot imagine what he must have been feeling, because he knew it was all his own doing, and now it was too late. My heart broke for him.

geez… i thought this was about tiffany, and her non relationship with her dad. sad. now all i am reading is about how business is done or not done. how about a little sympathy for a discarded girl.

Tiff realizes that she just recently behaved as a ditz which is progress. Maybe Dez will advise her that she needs to talk honestly with her dad. Tiff desperately wants his approval which explains why she initially kept the truth under wraps. She has his trust now but she recognizes that she didn’t earn it in the right way.

I wonder how anyone commenting on this strip has ever been able to sit through a sitcom? I mean, are we all sitting back and analyzing Lucille Ball in I love Lucy as she’s shoving chocolates in her pockets or pulling a face after saying her line for the commercial “And it tastes good too!” (YUCK)

Saturday: Tiffany has another idea!

All our main characters have grown, haven’t they? Luann, Tiff, Gunth, Brad, … etc… and yet they still have challenges. Just like life. One thing I love about this comic strip.

Dad deserves to be “in the dark” by his behavior. Tiff Time needs to be on his schedule just like that meeting someone is shouting about.

If Tiffis so afraid of staying at her Manse alone all summer, she could have applied for a summer job at Moony U as a dorm residential assistant. Often during the summer, the dorms remain open for university guests coming to campus for conferences, trainings, workshops, seminars, etc. I was a summer RA once for an international expo. My dorm building had mostly French and Spanish guests. I suspect they put guests from these countries because language structures are similar. Also the summer RAs including myself, took French or Spanish (me) classes. Anyway, that would be something Tiff could’ve done instead of staying alone at that expansive mansion.

I don’t get why Tiff never told her dad about the window being broken. It’s not like it was her fault. Weird that they didn’t already have a security system in that place! And I don’t think she ever determined whether anything was taken – although I doubt it was, as the window was broken on the second floor and it didn’t look as though there was room for anyone to come in that window.

Correction…a “thick” trustworthy ditz.

Writing Daddy out of any appearances would cause a really large story line to explain why he will no longer be in the strip. Better to have him pop in once in a while to cause Tiff misery.
