I just learned about an event that happened back in 1933, here in the US called the Businessmanâs Coup. It seems some businessman were very unhappy with Roosevelts New Deal. So some businessmen got together and approached Col. Smedley Butler, who was quite popular in the day, and tried to persuade him to get veterans together to overthrow the US government. This was after the âBosses of the Senateâ cartoon.
Oh, God, no! You mean to tell me that âfabulous secret powers were revealed to them the day they held aloft their magic swords and said, âBy the power of Tax Cuts and Federal Subsidies, WE ARE THE POWER!ââ?
Now letâs not get carried away. Billionaires have to live by the rules, too. (After a battalion of lawyers goes to court for twenty years and gets them off with a million-dollar fine.)
Iâll always remember a great line from the UK TV series âThe IT Crowdâ. There is a moment of solemn silence in the boardroom after someone invokes the name of âthe only rich person to go to jail in England in 100 yearsâ. :)
I wonder why I"m reminded of the Twilight Zone episode âThe Huntâ? Yâknow, the one where the old mountain man goes hunting with his hound and they end up dying. On the Road to Eternity the man and his hound come across a fence with a good olâ boy sittinâ, chawinâ on a piece of grass who welcomes him in. Beyond the fence you see fields, and woods and he hears banjos strumming the old tunes. But the good olâ boy tells the old man his dog isnât welcome. The man says then he isnât either and continues down the road. Turns out that was the âOther Placeâ, which he wouldnât have seen until he was beyond the fence. Like this âtoon? Things that make you go âhhhmmmmâŠâ

Is the priest preparing to perform a human sacrifice there to entertain the billionaires or are they there as fodder?
Never mind; Iâve worked for companies that cheerfully sacrificed up to two-thirds of their employees. I know the answer.
