Is “pull my finger” a dad joke, because dads have stronger fingers and they aren’t worried about the child pulling it off?

I’ve heard that the oldest recorded joke was from Sumeria around 1900BC… “Something which has never occurred since time immemorial; a young woman did not fart in her husband’s lap.”

At 72, I laugh just as hard at the campfire scene in Blazing Saddles as I would have at age 11. And I’m not ashamed.

Even at my advanced age (58), I still find flatulence hilarious … ‘cept when my dog does it. Then it’s just heinous. But even that has its humorous aspect: she grins whenever she does it. (That’s our first clue to leave the room.)
