Hold up a sign that says “Honk if you’re an idiot” and see how many people honk. Some neighbourhoods will be noisier than others.

Remember, there’s no problem so difficult, no situation so complex that you can’t do something to it with a big enough hammer.

Have a smashing time.

My bumper sticker reads: “Keep calm. You will die anyway”.

Used to one that read THIMK. Works for me.

Why not? Often the solution IS simple, it’s just not what people want to hear.

The heartwarming simplicity of Fascism !

This is why many municipalities have a hefty fine for sounding your horn for any reason other than to warn of imminent collision. I have seen communities where people honk “hello” to each other so often, that they wave, instead of hitting the brakes, and crash into your car.

…yet in defense of bumper stickers, they do have a way of slicing through the clutter of ‘complex’ problems and getting to the essence of a matter.

When the only tool you have is a hammer, you’re going to approach every problem as if it’s a nail.

It’s hard to hear the horns around here because of all the loud exhausts.

Bumper stickers aren’t working so now we have to epoxy ourselves to the middle of the road. Desperate times call for desperate measures

For any given complex, expensive, time-consuming problem there exists at least one simple, cheap, easy wrong answer.

I can think of one bumper sticker that would clear up a whole bunch of complex problems:

VOTE DEMOCRATIC

My dad, born 1921, loved to rant. One he used a lot in the ’60s and ’70s was “Bumper Sticker Mentality.” He often began sentences with “Some idiot…”

That is a long sign to read while you are driving. I hope people do not take their eyes off the road for that long.

My bumper sticker. “Don’t re-elect anybody!”

Yep. most Democratic cities all look like they have been hit with hammer since they took over. Detroit, Seattle, Portland, Los Angles to name a just a few!!!

There’s a classic example – “Don’t blame me, I voted for ‘The Other’ (insert preference here) Party”.

The annoying people can’t read so fast as they drive. So no effect.

Three of my favorite bumper stickers I actually had on my bumper at one time or another : “Lead, follow or get the h*ll out of the way” ; “If you dont like way I drive, stay off the sidewalk” and “This vehicle made the Kessel run in under 12 parsecs” . The third one is currently on my Toyota Sienna mini van :). The fella at Discount Tire who was putting some air in my tires was laughing his a$$ off at that one :).
