And someday, that will all be Gene’s……

Some old furniture but the old couch can’t be there. They’re still using it because it had been reupholstered.

Attic Tetris.

How’d they get that big furniture up there through that small, rectangular port? That stuff should have been free-cycled at the curb; way too much effort to get it into the attic.

So are they or are they not going to move from the Jackson suburbs down to their kids in Bay St Louis or wherever they live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast?

My trips to the attic were like being in a sweat box. My son said the elementary school should have named a wing after me for my book donations. Could not move them to the mainland.Within the next month I hope to have my Little Library up.

Attic Hoarders!

So glad we have an attic with normal stairs to it, so we can use the space for an office/hobbyroom and not too much junk occupying space. Not even in our shed, we need that space for our motorbikes and bicycles. In our previous home, the attic looked just like that, including the tricky staircase.

I have an apartment. I wish I had an attic.

I have an attic, but I don’t have anything in it. The back of the basement does just fine.

When we move into this house fifty years ago, we put several things in the attic that cannot now be removed. I received a toybox from somebody and used it to store blankets and such, and we moved it into the attic through a window. About ten years later, we had the roof replaced and that window was resized. Guess what is stuck up there!

Nothing in the attic except insulation and ductwork. The storage shed in the back yard is a different matter though. When it cools down some, that will be the next project I start.

Plan B: Seal up the attic and sell it AS IS.

In the service we moved a lot (13 moves in 21 years) – had weight limits so we learned to keep it simple and did not keep what we didn’t use. My dad’s house on the other hand had 50 years of stuff in it – most went to the local dump when he sold the place…

Much better a full attic than paying $thousands over the years for a storage locker.

He was not kidding. Simple solution is to find a match, put out the cat, light the match, and take the wife out to lunch.Problem solved and the move can start tomorrow…..

Did anyone else hear trumpets playing the theme from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark? Remember the final scene?

Is this the start of the “going to move” (there is a beach front condo just waiting) clean up?

Cue the trips down memory lane as they sort through the boxes.

Most of us own way too much crap……

Gene will love you someday for getting rid of that now.

How much before Janis has to come up searching for him?

Arlo I can understand. When I walk into my wife’s hobby room, I feel the same way. It is so bad, even she calls it the black hole.

If he dies up there, you’ll know long before 6 months have passed.

Is Arlo going into the attic to get stuff for the yard sale? I thought that was Janis’ idea and therefore she would do the work.

during one move, I took boxes full of stuff that we didn’t use and sealed them up with yellow tape. Any of the boxes whose seals were not broken, would not go on to our next move. Hubby kept a lot of stuff for sentimental reasons and now that it is gone, he doesn’t really need or miss it. But I’m not completely heartless, a few treasures are still sitting in boxes, in storage. Probably something our kids will be able to ger rid of.

When we packed out our house after 25 years I swear that it looked like this. So much stuff ended up going to charity.

This is going to be fun… maybe…

Man! All you need is some eerie organ music and you’re all set for Halloween or horror movie. How’s this for mystery? A man goes into his attic and is never seen, again! Probably already has been done, but why not?

Also the first step to moving to the beach. Janet is crafty.

Yes. After 10 years, any box you did not unpack when you moved in should be discarded, but there are so many nice surprises.
