A bridge too far

That would be the easy way, but not the fun way.

Reminds me of a time I went skatejouring with a colleague’s huskies. The path entered a downhill U turn. You could see the dogs looking at each other a the top and thinking: “let’s play crack the whip”. So they did; with predictable results.

Let’s hide behind the chainsaws. (❤️ it… that one never gets old)

That’s exactly why it’s a former life.

At least the pups are fine, they made the jump.

Well, he just broke five more bones.

There are different kinds of Evel Knievels out there. They buy into crypto currency, lotteries, and political agendas.

I’m glad the dog team made it.

I was always fascinated by the fact that Evel Knievel became a huge celebrity by not being very good at what he did.

Love Wiley’s work but this one is wrong. In the Arctic teams are fan-tail to the sled, qamutiik ᖃᒧᑏᒃ so that falling in a crevasse will not pull the whole team in. Also if attacked by a bear the dogs are not tied closely to each other and can respond

The harness as shown is used below the treeline so you don’t end up with all the dogs tangled in the bush.

Where I lived on Baffin Island the hunters would leave the teams out on the bay ice and the noon siren would set them all off howling

He obviously didn’t make it to old age in that life. He got the Darwin Award. Better luck next time or maybe hope for more brains.

If the dogs all made it across the gap, the sled/skis would have made it too. Momentum down the hill would have carried it to the other side.
