Yep. Several intelligent and informed people have pointed out that unless the full house authorizes them, they’re just an ad hoc gang of thugs who’re trying to push an agenda without the legal right to do so. McCarthy himself being one such person.

After FIVE YEARS of investigating the Bidens, starting when the Department of Justice was under Donald Trump’s control (and, unlike Biden, he took an active role in directing the DOJ about perceived adversaries that should be prosecuted and allies that should be protected) they have found ZERO evidence of wrongdoing by Joe Biden.

Sure, there is evidence of some minor non-violent crimes by a first-time offender (Hunter Biden) which routinely settle with a plea agreement far more lenient than the one that had been secured before a Trump-appointed holdover prosecutor and a Trump-appointed caved to political pressure and scrapped it, but NOTHING that involves Joe Biden.

They have thousands of pages of financial records, but NOTHING that shows direct involvement by Joe in Hunter’s business deals. They have evidence that Hunter would occasionally call his father while with business associates (the ultimate name dropper) and his father would say a few pleasant words, but NOTHING that involved participation in actual business activity. The same “eye witnesses” who confirmed that Hunter called his father while in the presence of associates also testified that no business was discussed.

The only thing they have against President Biden is, he is president while being a Democrat. Their guy committed crimes, so they have to somehow make accusations to place guilt on an innocent man in an effort to deflect responsibility for those crimes.

It doesn’t matter if Biden is guilty or not. The optics for the base are too important to leave up to facts. The closer we get to Nov 2024 the more the Rs will demand impeachment from their members until they get it. Now if 5 of them live in districts that have a purple demographic it could cost them the house.

It will be a colossal waste of time that no sane person should pay attention to.

Let’s be honest here. The only reasons why Biden is talk of impeaching Biden is because he is a Democrat and because Trump was impeached twice. The Republicans have made a mockery of both the subpoena process and the impeachment process. They have delegitimized both and basically made them a a laughingstock.
