Today Wiley’ s cartoon has a lot in common with today “Calvin and Hobbes”.

Deterrents are everything these days.

The thing some kids don’t get about adults is that they used to be kids themselves. Ergo, they know how kids think.

So the buck doesn’t stop anywhere. It doesn’t even slow down.

Don’t wish too hard for what you want, Danae …

She failed to factor in the just who held all the cards in that situation.

Blanket pardons might soon be on sale at Wal-mar-a-lago-mart.

Sometimes kids need time to think things out.

Sometimes adults need a time out (too).

Responsibility versus accountability.

Time outs are good for that, unless there is either a phone, a disc player, or tv in the room. Then it’s just time passing.

Preemptive grounding. I love it. That almost reminds me of a certain coach I once had to deal with while soccer reffing. I thought of giving him his yellow card at the beginning of the match, just to save time.

Don’t think of yourself as being grounded, Danae. Think of yourself as being unjustly imprisoned by a corrupt regime, like Nelson Mandela.

You know, this is a cute theme, however, I would REALLY find it refreshing if we were able to receive acknowledgement of wrongdoing, especially from a particular orange, former president.

I like to think I’m still in touch with the child in me.

Encourage compassion by forgiving others before they hurt you. But you can still hold them accountable for their actions.

Never apologize in advance. You might be right after all.

That ‘take Responsibility’ political mindset ONLY works when people won’t hold you accountable.

Oh, how I wish we could do that to some politicians I know….

Looks like Daddy’s doing a little preemptive parenting!

Its a good idea; get punished now when you aren’t doing anything then be free to wreck havoc when the time is right
